Simply, the LAV and HAV vehicles could use a quick change control scheme. Me being a avid racing game player on the PS3 would like for the acceleration be moved from the analog stick to the R2 trigger button. The breaks as well as reverse could be moved to the L2 button. This would make it easier to control these beasts and make them a lot more fun to use. I pride myself as a awesome battle driver and this would allow people like me to be useful in vehicle combat. The way the acceleration is now it kind of makes it hard to turn and accelerate at full speed. If there is anything you will change, i think this one could be a reasonable change.
Thanks, The guy who wrote this. |

I am pretty sure the control scheme for vehicles was built as such to make it easy for those with a Sharpshooter to pilot vehicles. That being said, the current control scheme could work; I would just like it if it was more responsive. When I am going forward and want to quickly back up to either avoid fire or pick up a friendly, several times I've had to wait for the vehicle, specifically LAV, to slowly roll to a stop before it would reverse. Therefore, the unresponsiveness makes me an easy target where I do not even want to call in my LAV. |

Yea the acceleration to reverse slow roll is annoying. im in the future, i need my vehicles to act like such. |

They could also handle it like many other games - interchangeable control schemes. Some people drive better with one control scheme, some people drive better with another. |

I agree with Jmg, control standards that we have grown up on are best stuck to for a reason. My first experience with a vehicle in DUST was hacking an LAV after sniping the pilot, and it took me an embarrassingly long time to realize Left stick Up was accelerate and turning was not the delicate art I was accustomed to, and my second experience, taking a Sag from a pile of roughly 20 Sags (where do you get the ISK, oh random patron of my team?) was made harrowing by the once again odd difficulty of precise turning. |

The common sense layout, to me anyway, would be left analogue for accelerate and brake/reverse and right analogue for steering, if you are driving the thing you will be bound for an objective so not a great deal of need to look around with the right analogue, the view is pretty good anyway to spot the opposition. Similar controls for flight also. Just my 2pence worth |

Thanks, The guy who wrote this. yeah i know what you mean they would be faster then they are now which might stop them from falling victim to people with forge guns like me |

The controls are somewhat unresponsive, which got fixed in the upcoming build this weekend! Vehicles should handle a lot better! |

I want a free camera to use on vehicles so that i can have a 360* view. acceleration will be on R2, Brake/Reverse will be on L2. steer with L3 (left analog) and free camera with R3 (right analog) |

EDITED
I humbly propose propose:
L2/R2 to accelerate. R2/L2 to brake/reverse. SQUARE to access inventory instead than R2.
P.S. I made a thread suggesting a streamlined controls, should I post your ideas there as well guys? |
