It's...the best thing CCP has done. The lore behind it is also pretty awesome. If I could buy a bpo of it with real money, I would.

Twelve, no, just no. That is not what a scout is all about.
Never being seen yea, we are a reconnaissance class. Rarely should we ever try to be a slayer. We are for the ins and outs. Hack and vanish, we put links behind enemy lines or in vital places. We are for breaching, ganking, infiltration, bastardly kill steal when needed, pick off stragglers. We are the eWAR class. We find enemies for our team, we flip letters for our team, we uplink in vital places for our team. We are the forefront of infiltration. We are Scouts, we are what our name suggests.
And the Black Eagle is the true commando. The Black Eagle is the premier slayer scout.

Um, it is not an opinion. I have been a scout since beta, i am one of the original bastards, i know it for a fact.

FTFY. EWAR Scouts died a year ago. If your squad/team needs scans, you're doing them a disservice by fielding anything other than a GalLogi. You could nerf both the GalLogi's bonuses and active scanners, and it's recon would still be vastly superior to that of any Scout.
