Most of the good north american PC playerbase won't fight for a single flag. They fight for a cause for a month or two, get bored, then find another cause. This has been cyclical since the dawn of PC. Meanwhile the Latino's and Asians are happy to accrue land within their organized power blocks without having to lose their playerbase immediately after.
Hate to say it but you reap what you sow. Learn to stick together or get overwhelmed. It's a numbers game and they have more.

Dust has never been a numbers game, and still isn't really. You can't win, you won't be in PC for long. Even Latino's lose heart and quit and stop showing up. Never forget, guys, you're mercenaries. The color of your flag means as much as the color of your skin. All that matters is what you get out of it all.
In this case, losing because you can't stick together.

And yes, Dust HAS always been a numbers game. The problem is that the side with a lot of numbers is typically also disorganized and can't stack properly to take advantage of it. It's not much of an advantage, after a certain amount of districts you can't stack, so that team beating your ass will just continue too. when did Dust become a numbers game? When everyones skill level became the same? :\
Classic example at its core was back during the era/ae/dns conquest period. Remember when FA did nothing but win for a week straight, but still couldn't do anything to gain territory? In the end, losing everything was inevitable because of the number advantage.
It doesnt matter how good one side is, if they are outnumbered by an organized opponent they will not be able to make any strategic gains and loss is going to happen sooner or later. It was true then, and it's true now.

Well, seems like things are exactly where they should be in any event.
If the game ports, there will be a big regional demographic shift.
If it doesn't, well, no one can rule a game that's been taken offline.
Either way, enjoy the waiting game.

This example has an issue - it was 3 teams of almost equal strength, and 2 decided to jump one. You were losing, otherwise districts don't flip, there's no way around that unless you're giving them up. Burnout started rearing it's ugly head, and that's probably why you feel numbers matter, to prevent it and keep your players fresh. But if you guys weren't burning, and winning all the time, you wouldn't of needed to fold like you did. One team of 16 would easily, forever, hold it's own against any sort of mass.
Clearly it could not. But FA was winning the vast majority of matches. We had one day where a number of losses piled on, and we recognized that we would never gain ground no matter how many victories we secured. We didn't bother much after that and kinda let the rest just go.
Your scenario of one team holding districts indefinitely requires that they are not outnumbered, have a huge lead in skill and are incapable of ever losing a match. It is an unrealistic scenario.
It is true that is is easier to defend districts that are not stacked, but unless the attacking side burns out and collapses from internal strife there is no strategic way to win the war itself.
