I hope one day they have the balls to try something interesting again, and no valkyrie really isn't going to be it.
it is so disappointing that CCP decided to put their weight behind such a gimmicky concept. I agree.

I'm all for praising CCP and the success they've had with Dust as a balanced free game that generates profit. Pay to accelerate exists (sp boosters), but there is no hard evidence of pay to win, and that's impressive considering the potential profit of a p2w game. "I do 8% more damage than you and will always do 8% more damage than you" is pretty damn close to paying to win in my opinion. Lol, I have my ammo facility to level 8 on my other character and haven't spent a dime.
Granted pretty much all my other subsystems are level 2 or 3.

Also, even IF it was ptw, it is still a whole lot better than most other f2p games or even games that cost money to buy.

They've done a very good in job in balancing a good product with a fair monetization policy.
I've been playing a lot of games on Steam lately, and the trend towards DLC and microtransactions, a long with higher base game prices is disturbing.
The big companies are quickly moving towards a 'minimum content - maximum cost' philosiphy.
I got excited when 'Total War: Warhammer' was announced. But then I learned that even though the base game is $80 (CAD), that they are working on Day-1 DLC RACE PACKS, 6 months before release! Not only that, splitting the game into three full priced titles, charging $5 dollars extra to see blood in the game (wish I was kidding) etc. etc. The overall game will cost $300-$400 if you want everything. Never buying anything from Creative Assembly again. Can't reward these practices.
I got excited when Battlefront was announced, but now I see the fraction of the contet BF 2 had, the Day 1 DLC, the fact that they are working on sequels before the first game is finished etc. Never buying from EA again either.
Screw all these big companies.
Yes Dust has it's share of problems, but at least they care about their product, interact with the community, and have a reasonable monetization policy. Credit where it's due!
Over $1000 for 1% more damage. Asking for money for well over a year while adding no actual content added. An essentially useless warbarge that can easily end up costing over $10,000. Spamming players with mystery boxes and charging them to open them with a good chance the result will be totally useless. Allowing players to outright steal items that cost pretty good amounts of real cash thanks to incomplete mechanics has no word for it. I must VERY SERIOUSLY be missing something. Are you sure you were logged into Dust? It is not ptw because first of all, 1% more damage is miniscule and unimportant in almost all battle situations, and secondly CCP is actually discouraging you from buying it by making it expensive.
It is not P2p because no one except richy rich people are going to actually get that.

But do the hats make you better? Do they make you deadlier? No. Because every idiot that has a inventory full of mad milk can just trade that for some metal and trade the metal for a hat. Or trade the mad milk for a hat,yes you heard me,milk for a hat.
You can get the most out of sometimes just spending .49 cents.
Dust gives you all its content. You don't even have to pay a dime to trade unless your account is less than 6 months old and doesn't have enough loyalty rank. I used to play tf2
Then I broke my computer
