I did not realize his absence has been so long until someone pointed out that he has not posted since October.
A search of last posts from him does not look good.

I'm pretty sure the recent changes in management (board of directors of CCP) has something to do with Rattatis silence.
He probably was put onto other tasks and his nda forbids him to speak to us openly.
All the signs in the last 6 weeks lead to a solid assumption, that CCP is shifting all their resources towards VR gaming and EVE.
There will be no more development on dust whatsoever! |

To be fair, the big ticket VR game* is not being developed in Shanghai, but in Newcastle. Adding to that, Valkyrie is already feature complete and is just getting polished at this stage. The $30mil is probably going towards hyping up the launch and it's first DLC.
If Shanghai is involved in that I will very surprised. They are more focused on the Chinese Eve server: Serenity.

Anyway, they do not seem to work on Dust anymore, no market updates? The easiest way to make money for CCP? There are enough people who buy these skins, so why did they stop that?
There is only one reason, and that's a complete halt on all things Dust. My guess is that the 12 days of Dustmas will be the last bone they throw towards us... |

CPM already stated Rattati is "balls deep" into a project. When goes balls deep apparently he shuts people out to finish his work, especially when its something he needs to actually *work* on.
The sky seems to remain perfectly in place from my perspective. |

Lots of people who work in software tend to go into a heads down mode when working on something important.
After all, making big changes / in depth discussion tends to require a sort of tunnel vision on those features that prevents one from being social... or sleeping... or eating... or bathing...

I kitten around in guild wars 2 on the pc but that's about it. I used to be a hardcore eve player but a wine update broke it about a year ago and I haven't bothered to fix it. |
