Wanted to get on this topic this morning before school, now I'm back and pretty disappointed with the replies...

While you aren't a new player you do seem to be rather casual. Not a bad thing, but I think most of the problems come from not being able to improve due to lack of matches, time and simply poor games. We all learn at a different pace but when in a group you pick up the pace. I highly recommend you join squads so you can actually try to improve while knowing someone's got your back.
Have you tried to do scouting or logi? If you can't improve your gun game try those roles as they don't often do combat and are pretty essential to win. You should also look into vehicles as well since they don't require gun game just ability to operate and invest in ISK. Just thought I'd add these suggestions since you seem to be focused on assault roles rather than support roles which are equally beneficial.
Also have you tried looking up tutorials/guides for registering the mic to PS3? It's a bit of a pain and maybe you're just not doing something right... Good Luck o7

sensei ai wrote:I tried a few of the tips here. I got the headset working, thanks. Didn't think to look outside of dust514 to set up, and went and did in ps3 setting properly. People in learning coalition and squad helped me figure out the rest. Couldn't get PTT to work tho so i just leave it on.
I played on US server today for the first time, and it was nice. queue times under 1min usually, most of the players aren't that good actually so it was easier than asian pubs at least this time around. Also did my first squad. Still a lot to learn there but we won every match.
The lag was a little bad sometimes, but i'm guessing everyone got the lag, because people on comms were also complaining about it? Guess that's one of the asian server benefits. But I can't tell you how much better it is to not have to wait 5-10+ minutes per match now, thanks. I also got to use logi and focus more on team play being in a squad, was pretty nostalgic.
Turned sensitivity up, still bad at gun game but i'll work on it. I really like the mouse and its hard to stop using...
As for types, I'd like to try scout, but thinking about investing in the scout with the scan radius and being a scannet feeding map awareness, using cloak and SG and trying to not get noticed in buildings, but i'll need a lot more SP and ISK investment first. Logi is also good but I missed out on the whisper tool event due to work and crap queue times...so a bit sad there. Maybe if I can get a good apex and figure out what faction to try..i'll try it again.
Anyhow thanks for the advice and i'll keep steadily trying new things. Thanks for actually following my advice! One thing I hate is when people ask for help but end up doing their own sh*t anyways...
Glad you had a great experience from the looks of it, just work on getting some decent advance fittings and the ISK should build up thus allowing you to get better equipment for that logi. Concerning the scout I would not recommend the cloak, too much investment not enough gains. I can't exactly provide advice on which scout to chose since I've only experienced the Amarr Scout(AmarrFTW), maybe check the locker room for the thread called "The Barbershop", heard that's whear all the scouts post.
Hope the following days are just as good. Also don't use PTT(works poorly).
