Remember when people saw that glorified demo at fanfest? Do you think I was happy to see the failure in the offing? Of course not.
18 months later, the same dreamers are infecting people with false hopes, in spite of the track record of CCP regarding this title.
The dreamers supporting a horrible dev process and aiding CCP in shaking free cash from people are the bloody worst. Especially the non players riding a hype train to nowhere.
I'd rather be straight up about it, even if the dreamers hate me for it.
You will see no port, no comment on this "leak", and of course no future for dust. Deal with it.

I never used to feel this way about Dust until I got stuck into PS4 games but..... I wouldn't mind the content being a little lacking initially if it mean if the game ran smoothly.
As it is now its so disorienting when players just twitch in and out of position magically avoiding laser bolts.

The issue is that that means we have no way to see the extent of that caring.

Perhaps CCP does have great things in store for us. Perhaps they do care a bit. But it's like you said, we have no way of knowing that. CCP Rattati doesn't even talk to us anymore and he was our most communicative contact within CCP Shanghai.

Yes, for anyone who just plays the game without visiting these forums, it would probably seem like this game was going the way of so many other free-to-plays and just fading into the darkness.

I'm in a crowd of people who don't forum, its almost expected of me to rattle off the daily buzz/updates/changes these days.
I don't mind at all, but we have a news feed upon logging in that could be used a lot more efficiently and save me some breath. That is something I bring up time and time again. News feed is my biggest dust peeve believe it or not.
They did poop on us, then we did throw it right back at them. In their eyes, its best to just leave us alone until they have something good. (Even though every time we get something half the forums hate on it..)

All things considered now that the cats out of the bag they really might as well step forward and address this. I understand that they wanted to keep this under wraps due to the pushback received from the Rouge Wedding but how many people have already left the dust community because they just assumed the game was dead and CCP Shanghai was an incompetent mess? Ultimately this fear of their own community... Because that's what all of this was from, fear of extreme negative criticism about any lack of progression that lead to us not recieving any updates at all... Has killed dust. We aren't resting, the community is dead and even a massive release like whatever CCP has planned now would only ever be bringing us back from the dead rather than treating it like a direct continuation.
I can stress enough how horrible I find the executive decisions of this whole project considering the apparent progress being made. Even seeing these photos alone I could go another six months without any more information simply because I know that there is a future for this title. Projects like Star Citizen have proven how vital transparency is in the development of MMO titles and I can't understand how in God's name they felt that this strategy of wiping all of this under the rug was a good idea.
So help me, if CCP Patriot receives any sort of punishment for leaking these photos I say we riot. His little stunt just gave DUST 514 the largest burst of activity (and more importantly hope) that we've seen since Uprising 1.7. You should be thankful for his leak, not reprimanding him because of a crap NDA put in place because of the mistakes of the previous dev team.
