My first match went something like this. I joined a squad finder squad and made a good friend who goes by the name of Damon. We had a lot of fun along with another micless person JaLaw. The socket was an unfamiliar one to me but the map was one of my favorites. The socket was a Caldari looking structure and consisted of three small towers that when connected formed a triangle. On this socket was a CRU and a supply depot. The point was inside against a wall. There were only two entrances, one that was called the "front door" by my squad mates and was just an ol' regular entrance, and the other entrance was called the "back door" and consisted of a jump that you could enter through, but you can not exit back.
The game started off with me in my Amarr Commando ak.0 with a Militia Laser Rifle and Militia Assault Rifle. I went to the top of a bridge like structure that was over the front door and quickly cut down an Assault C/1 Series, I then proceeded to take on a Gallente Frontline suit. However I was running low on ammo and considering my equipment was a boundless remote explosive I went to the CRU, which was a hop skip and a jump away from where I was previously.
I went there but an enemy Madrugar had taken it out the minute I arrived. I was then proceeding to switch to my Assault Rifle when I was taken out by a shotgunner who had taken me from behind.
Out of isk and out of suits, I switched to my ever so reliable Gallente Medic suit. Our team held the point and it was a constant defense against the ever persisting enemy team. The clone counts were even and the action was ceaseless. I spent my team accumulating war points by repairing and reviving people along with another amarr logistics that appeared to have a 3 target rep tool of unknown name. I died a few times, I killed a few times, and I repped and revived heavies more than a few times. I was at about 2k war points when suddenly an anti shield warbarge strike struck us and destroyed the entirety of our uplinks along with our shields. At this time the enemy team pushed us and boxed us in on both sides. Their push was successful and we had to proceed back from our redline, as we had no uplinks nor CRUs.
My skill was low, my isk even lower, but my enthusiasm was through the roof.
At this point, most of our team was at the back door, where I rinsed and repeated by militia medicing duties. At this time one or our own squad leaders called in a anti shield warbarge strike and we made a push of our own. It was a constant battle, our team controlled one half of the inside and the enemy team controlled the other half. Amidst the chaos I ran in and desperately tried to seize a hack as our MCC was almost at half armor. I went in my team made a small push which drove the enemy back by roughly 10 meters, but it was enough. I secured the hack and died when the enemy pushed back. We then fought them inside the point for the entirety of the hack. They finally pushed us out though and started to counterhack, however it was as you say, "Too little too late" and my hack was good. Their armor was at critical condition and though they managed to get a hack on the objective, the null cannon had already fired a shot that annihilated the enemy MCC and we won. 30 clones to 30 clones.
I ended the match 10/10, with 3800 war points and a heck of a lot of fun.
And that concludes my first match in Dust 514 in 2 years. This game has progressed greatly and I do not regret my decision to come back.
Soto out.
