Rattati is (was?) a huge ally to the community. Him talking to us made us trust someone at CCP, even a little bit.

Last time CCP stopped talking to us Rouge Wedding happened. We're kind of conditioned to expect bad **** to happen when CCP shuts up completely.

And Rattati leaving would be bad.

Players do not speculate due to lack of communication. Players do not think of the worst thing possible because of lack of communication. Players think it is for the best because of the lack on communication.

The best way to communicate is to not communicate at all.

Then they will just drop the news that dust is already ported to whatever platform.

Can't say for sure. It's obviously up to a dev's personal time and inclination whether he/she posts, so I can only speculate that he's holding back for good reasons.

That said, he's always watching, and yes, he sees you when you're sleeping.

I am also wondering about CCP Rattati. Last I heard he was on vacation. As his last post was on 10/27, how long is his vacation going to be? Will we see him again in 2015 or have to wait until 2016?
Plus, I doubt 1.3 will release before Rattati returns.

On a serious note tho, I'm pretty sure Rattati an crew are doing their best to give you guys a shiny new build/hotfix before Christmas holidays. This or he has been visited by the aliens.

After some thought (after letting this post irk me) I've decided to address said post (anew).

Well let's see. After living the "soon tm" meme for a good year, after being trolled by Devs about upcoming features and changes, after all the glitches and bugs, mounds and mounds of glitches and bugs (some of which you still deal with today), after massive and seemingly random swings in the balance of the game from month to month with no progress what so ever towards the goal of overall balance, after CCP actively pumping up the forums for months about FF14s big announcement for Dust, and after that announcement being about 35 seconds of "aside from a few patches for stability sake, all work on Dust will end, buy a PC and get ready for Hi Res Dust (Project Legion)", after Dust players flew out to whatever God awful country whose name escapes me to attend FF14 for a solid gut punch, and after the Devs had nothing but smart mouth, butthurt comments for the playerbase in the ensuing forum rage........gee I don't know.

Did we bring the silence upon ourselves Summa? Or more accurately, did we bring the silence upon the current playerbase? What do you think Summa? What's your "hot take" on the matter?

The f*cked up part about all of what I just listed (and there is plenty more) is that if CCP didn't pull the whole Project Legion stunt, and did everything else exactly the same, a majority of those who left would not have left. And aside from the every day forum b*tching (this is the internet, it's unavoidable) there would have been no massive forum rage, no list of biomassed mercs.

Being a business, I understand their goal is to make money. They obviously felt the right move at the time was to gear up for Legion. We all know now it wasn't. The problem was the grimey, underhanded, downright sh*tty way they went about it. In the months before FF14 they were pushing aurum and packs HARD. Like really hard. While at the same time flaunting the gigantic, mysterious Dust announcement to come. Let's all remember that the official word on the transfer of anything from Dust to Legion was "........uuuuuhhh........*cough*.......we uuuuuhhhh......we'll see".

So I don't know Summa. Did we bring the silence upon ourselves? You tell me.

CCP are quiet because they are ashamed of this game...

Maybe they are quite because they know a bunch of over-demanding, self-entitled ******** are going to crucify them if they can't deliver on a simple idea let alone a promise.

The most effective solution to the majority of this games issues can come from the playerbase but a lot of the playerbase is too stupid to realize that.

Also, if CCP silence has been going on for 3 years then why the hell have you people not accepted silence as the norm? Insanity can be defined as repeating the same task over and over again expecting different results. After three years I think it is safe to say that some of you people are bat**** ******* crazy.
