Sometimes I feel like a relic (and for those of you who don't understand that word, no judgement...but it means "an object, custom, or belief that has survived from an earlier time but is now outmoded."
Why do I feel like a relic you ask? (Yes, even though you didn't ask)
I feel like the last true cowboy left in Dust 514.
I'm the guy who will push even 4 v 12 or 6 v 15. I'll still deploy in my proto gear and attack the tanks roaming the field and although I don't have a high success rate, sometimes I get lucky. I did a 6 v 15 match last night, with my alt Jin-Mei Junkie and did 2962 in frontline gear! Destroyed 4 tanks and an installation which was pretty sweet! All in Armor AV frontline gear.
I don't jumpy splash damage you with a Mass Driver.
I don't jumpy splash damage you with a flaylock pistol.
I don't jumpy PLC you.
Why? Easy. Because I find those play styles the ultimate expression of a weak player. I do melee however, which you pretty much have to get right the first or second strike otherwise you're toast. I like to earn my kills. If I mess up and I miss you with my melee swings, you will kill me. You deserve to kill me and you won't see me spring up into the air and Mass Driver you to death. I'll take my kill LIKE A MAN.
There's no honor in this game anymore and that sucks. Uprising 1.6 and before, we had honor. The fights were legendary and it was put up or shut up and people fought with integrity and honor.
I still fight like that....and trust me, I do very well. However, I feel like the last true cowboy left in Dust 514. A relic.
Just decided to make this thread....ask are there any other true cowboys left here? Is there a chatroom and squads running with people who fight with integrity and honor?

I can dig the backstabbing evil ways of New Eden but what I can't dig is the level of wussification in this game. CCP has done some great things and some not so great things but yes, the jumpy mods are the worst.
However, all we would need to fix them is unable to fire while jumping! That would bring balance to the jump mods. I actually use them myself but not to kill folks. I use them obviously for melee purposes.
Although it would be supremely excellent if they seperated melee modules and jumpy modules into two separate things. That would be magical!
I just feel like CCP has given cowards the tools to be even bigger cowards. I don't feel like that's healthy.

I'd pay money to have a balanced game mode. Sucks knowing you're losing simply because someone has been playing longer. Doesn't give you much hope if those players keep playing, you'll basically never catch up to them in SP or isk.

Look bro...its not so much about the proto gear or anything like that.
My alt is Jin-Mei Junkie and I massacre proto players with frontline basic starter gear.
Like for example, my two main fits are;
Amarr Frontline w/basic RE's and militia kin cat
Gallente Frontline w/basic RE's and militia kin cat
and I kick ass and take names man. I destroyed 4 tanks last night, best I've ever done in a frontline suit and got 2,962pts all by myself...almost a full on warbarge strike all by me onsies lol
So don't get discouraged about the proto suits....just push yourself to aim and be smart. If you use automatic weapons, don't spray and pray. Use it semi-automatic, like....assault rifle, hold it down and count to 2 and then release and hold it down and count to 2...etc
Get them with more bullets, less spread and tighter aim. Works really well!

I did quit for awhile...I was pissed at Demon, pissed at the game and just fed up with it.
Believe it or not, it was my lovely fiance wanting to play that got me back into the game. She wanted to play Dust with me and that got me playing again.
So I came back and bought her an Apex suit and she's training up to be a logi and she loves it and we have fun and I have fun playing with my alt.

Legit? All I ever see in Acquisition mode is tanks that sit right in front of the objective and shoot you when you get close.

True that, but it just gets old seeing the same 'ol thing in Acquisition mode. Its basically tank guarding mode lol
But yeah I mean when my fiance wants to play Acquisition mode, we play. I use my AV fits (re's + thukkers + damps + cloak) to really screw them up but it gets hard when there is like 3 tanks and a dropship.
I'm only one man lol cowboy enough to try but not outlaw enough to get it done most times haha

Well Jermeckia is graduating with her bachelors degree in Fall '2016 and she wanted to be at least done with her bachelors before we got married so she could have a job and hands on experience before she starts graduate school in the fall of 2017 to obtain her masters degree.
Also, it gives us time to save money to have the wedding WE want. Weddings are very expensive and MY girl is getting nothing less than the wedding she wants and wedding dress she wants. Legit.
So we just decided that would be a good date for us and we like it! We're very excited :D

Hey man, that's cool of you to say! I appreciate it! She was very happy with that and it was EPIC! The guys from Who's Bad were cool as hell and they were super excited that we wanted to do that at their show!

That makes you incredibly dull and stupid. Predictable even. Why would you waste your gear like that?
Waste what gear? Frontline suits don't get used up. I mean, the RE's and militia kin cats I added to them do but that's like 3,000 ISK per fitting, so being as that I'm usually in the 350-400k isk range per match I could easily die over 100 times and still make a profit.
Plus how is that stupid and dull? The funniest moments for me in the game are the 6 v 15 because its fun to see what I can get away with! I destroyed FOUR tanks with 15 people to stop me but they didn't.
That's EPIC dude in every sense of the word and it was hilarious killing the dude who kept trying to creep behind the redline every single time he tried lol
PLUS dude I went up a ladder, shot off two swarms at a turret. Jumped down, went to a bunker, shot off two more. Went to the gate way, shot off two more, back to the bunker and shot off two more
That way the little turd on the turret couldn't get me bc he didn't know where I was gonna be lol it was hilarious.
So I'm sorry you find it dull and stupid but to me its fun and hilarious

Uhhuh, yeah okay...this is a video game dude. We are not mercenaries! We're guys and gals sitting in a house or hotel or dorm room shooting other guys and gals.
If we were mercenaries and it was really as "hardcore" or "New Eden" as you tell yourself...RE's wouldn't have been nerfed, Uprising 1.7 would have never happened, the scrambler pistols wouldn't have been nerfed to oblivion and there wouldn't be a problem with balance between vehicles and AV.
So with that being said and your post rendered irrelevant, I stand by my assertion that jumpy splash damage players are wusses. They look weak, they act weak and they react weak.
