Are there other FPS that really focus on being balanced?
I just had a close game of Domination and it was absolutely wonderful but this is very rare.

any fps that uses a rating system, i believe cs:go is an example.
essentially any good matchmaking uses the ladder system- you start with lets say 1000 ladder points-lp. Each time you win vs people also at 1000lp, you get 20, you lose vs them you lose 20lp. You beat or lose to someone with either way higher or lower lp than you, you only get or lose 5lp. The matchmaking trys to pair you up with people closer to your points but slowly expands the search for convenience.
In certain games they have ranks attached to thresholds in these points, in certain games these points are invisible whilst others arent and give you all the data.
In fps's they usually give out more of these points to the people who do really well, despite winning or losing whilst some incorporate both doing well and winning or losing.
The exact numbers i gave were an example, but represent the generic system, and its by far the tried and true matchmaking system. For fps's with this system you pretty much have to be on PC. All the console games are really **** at matchmaking, they take into account nothing but ping, and register people with **** ping that fluctuates between 5 and 1 bar connections, as 5 bar good ping and throws you in with them.

BF doesn't have a really good MM, but the number of players rotating in a single match is high and after all it's more balanced.
Regressed to blueberry level.

I find Destiny to have pretty good matchmaking in vanilla Crucible. Uneven matches are stopped early and the matchmaker breaks up the teams to find you or your team a better match.
There's no matchmaking for Trials though and level advantages are enabled in Trials and in Iron Banner.
Many here decry Destiny but I find the fun factor to be much higher than in Dust.
Plus you can report players for bad connection or cheating quite easily. Not sure much happens as a result though.

Competitive tf2. Find a team.
Don't bother with pubs. Class limits is where it becomes heavily balanced. Skill is what wins you them matches.
