I did the event yesterday and got off as soon as I made the 10k wps. It's saying the event is complete but I don't have the bpo. I've been on my alt getting it for him so I just noticed that I didn't have it. Can I maybe, oh, I don't know, get the rep tool I earned or hell reset the mission so I can get it again? |

CPM already told it can be faulty code during the buff of tool.
I think it was just server refresh bug like some time before (because i lost 46assists - secondary event mission).
Anyway it will be resolved, just give it time ;)

He made another post in another possibly vain attempt to get some attention/response from CCP. We still haven't heard a thing as far as I know.

It's a mess. From a database admin perspective this is extremely bad. it should not happen at all. Let's hope they have good enough procedures to be able to recover the lost data. |

You still have that 10000wp in counter ergo you will have piece ;)

I guess I need to explain something. All of this is DATA on a server(s) somewhere. It CAN be lost, unless proper transactional backups are taken. When servers are refreshed, it's possible to refresh them wrongly and LOSE data. Unless there are appropriate backups, this could indeed be lost.
Please stop saying that it's fine, nothing's lost. The reality is that it should not have gone missing in the first place, let alone have to find it on backups. If the backups don't have it, it may indeed be lost.
Until we hear from CCP that the data is there, not lost, and that it's just a server glitch and that it has been fixed, as far as I'm concerned we could well have lost them. |

On your character technically you dont have the rep tool anymore because the data for it was lost... However the mission is still complete and ccp has the data on that which tells them "hey this player completed the mission" they can run the numbers and see which players don't have the tools anymore and give them to those players.
CCP has proven they can do this when they removed the progression tree serpents from everyone who had them so adding something to our characters is just as easy
P.S. you think that ccp would lose data on an ingame item that easily? The rep tool exists in the game just as CCP employee master BPO'S do they are there you see they exist but you may never have one but you know it exists the same is true for the rep tool it's not ever leaving the game now unless ccp removes it themselves from the database. This is fixed easily and you're over reacting |

No it doesn't really bother me that much. What bothers me more is the level of trust people have in computers. The data in the database is only as good as the backups. If the database gets fried somehow the backups have to be used to recover it. Server refreshes are also usually done from backups. If there's anything wrong with them, you will lose data. Of course I don't know what this glitch is, and/or whether it's possible that we have lost the rep tool because it was a weekly mission in the dailies and got reset. All I'm saying is that until we hear from CCP that it's handled, we shouldn't be just assuming it is. |
