Looks like all my whining and bitching at the Lore devs finally paid off.
Was kinda hoping for something a bit more grandiose but I'll take what I can get

I know, man. Trust me, CCP has heard plenty of complaints about it. We're working on it though.

Was kinda hoping for something a bit more grandiose but I'll take what I can get These videos are usually done to promote new content in a lore driven way. Is it fair to assume that this is not the case at all as far as the Dust link goes? It's ok, won't flip a table over it but I'd just like that put out there so everyone is clear on it. In terms of Dust it is a very fair assumption. The PS3 is too far gone for them to expect some crazy new move to be profitable. In terms of it being hints for a new game I am torn. It was widely stated after the Legion announcement that no link would be pursued from the start in favor of focusing on making a "good game". Fanfest 16 will mark two years since the infamous FF14 and well over a year since the iron curtain was drawn tight on development of Legion. For CCP to think they can keep people totally in the dark for that long and with people switching daily to next gen consoles would be absolutely naive. Attempting to go past FF16 without something being said about what they are going to do in terms of a FPS would probably be the cherry on top of the mismanagement which has been the entire life of this game. I have never seen a company so able to get followers that are so loyal along with mistreating them almost as badly as they possibly can. To be clear I am not talking about the Dust team including but not limited to Rattati and Frame but about upper levels of CCP starting from Rouge and going all the way up to Hilmar. They should all be thanking Rattati beyond belief for the fact that this game is still alive and has in some form turned profitable even while they did everything they could to kill off the game through what would seem to be an absolute lack of resources, a total shut out to a future after making the game solely based on its future, and among that silence pumping out products even from the studio that is meant to be working on Dust or the new FPS.
For the record, Rouge gets a lot of undeserved flack. Hilmar as well gets a lot more flack than he deserves, especially for the FF14 debacle. Fact of the matter is that when you have a company of several hundred people, the CEO and EP aren't always going to be the shot callers. Unfortunately Rouge and Hilmar were the public faces at the time, so they received the blame.

I'm sorry, but that is some weak sauce justification. If the CEO isn't a shot caller, he isn't the CEO. If the EP isn't in charge of his project, he isn't an EP. Do you really expect people to drink the kool-aid along with you and blame a coder for what happened at ff14? The CEO and EP got let off easy for the blame they got.
Lol. Sure.
For the record, companies do have a hierarchy. It isn't just CEO and Employee. Even most fast food franchises have Franchise Owner > General Manager > Assistant Manager/Supervisor > Lead > Employee. You can't seriously expect that the Franchise Owner would be in charge of every nuance.

For all intents and purposes however are trimmed from the lore to the point where the only cloned soldiers who matter in New Eden are the NPC's from Mordu's Legion or in this case Arkombine.
I'm aware and just as disappointed as you are, but I try not to look a gift horse in the mouth.

You know when it comes to CCP, lore is that thing that has to be written because the game company can't actually get it up enough to create the stuff in the game.
Really, we should be playing this stuff, not reading a story about it.
One day. Hopefully within my term.
.... or my second, if necessary x3

You might be shocked to learn that in quite a few companies, most resources are subordinate to the marketing department (EA Games, Activision). In quite a few companies, with or without the board of directors, Marketing calls the shots on a day to day ground level. It works that way in the company I work for. WTB new job that doesn't suck. PST.
Money truly is the basis of all evil.

I talk with the guys from ISD Mercury (who you're referring to) pretty frequently. Constantly talking ideas and what not.
It goes a little further then that though, CCP reads over it when they have the time and sometimes it can take upwards of a month or longer for an ISD article to go live. CCP gets the final say in it, no matter what, though. You are right about that.
ISD Mercury's primary responsibility though is making sure the Evelopedia is up to date and kosher.
They're awesome folk, and I've been making a very strong effort to convince CCP to open up divisions for Dust 514 and open applications for it's players :3
EDIT: They've also been instrumental to some of the research documents I've put together for CCP Shanghai

Galm actually made a great suggestion the other day about sitting down and fleshing out to Duster mythos with anyone interested and try to submit something to the lore team to see if they could up date EVElopedia and what not.
Forwarded.
