What do the "V" shapes mean on the map (The map on the top left of the screen)?

I believe you may be referring to the ' ^ ' or ' v ' that indicate ally or enemy location on a higher or lower elevation than your current position. Is this helpful, or am I mistaken?
If I stopped using explosives, my kdr would be doubled.

so it is to differentiate elevation? I thought it was health or something... Are you sure it is for elevation? Just asking

Other players, the reason they appear like that is because they are using suits released in 1.8. The open side is the direction they are facing.
If you see a "V" shape they are using: Amarr/Caldari Scout, Gallente/Minmatar/Caldari Commando, Gallente/Caldari/Minmatar Sentinels
