That would be something nice for us and easy to add, right? To help prevent people scamming by imitating someone else's name. When you're reading mail, or perhaps when you have the message highlighted in your inbox to prevent pop-up clutter, press square to bring up their player info. This way we can easily check a player's name, PSN, and corp without accidentally bringing up the actual player when we do a search. It makes it much more difficult to **** people over by doing the actually illegal part of Eve universe scamming.
Thoughts?

This is very true, and personally I've never been scammed. But this is for the cases where it's scamming via identity theft, which is entirely different. That's not something you can always account for, and if someone doesn't know the person whose identity is being stolen personally, only knows 'Oh hey, I've heard of this guy/seen him in chat, he's pretty cool' your first thought isn't going to be a game of 20 Questions.
Besides, this seems like such a trivial thing to add that it couldn't possibly take more than an hour or two at most to whip up. It's just taking a feature that already exists (looking up player info via chat or character search) and putting it in an additional place and accessible via a button press. It's not like I'm asking for something like the ability to compare one player's info card to another. That, I imagine, would take quite a bit more time away.

Very much aware of that, but I appreciate what you're doing o7.
What I'm asking for, though, is a quality of life change that will allow us to check player info while we're reading a message, or when we have a message highlighted in our inbox, so that we can more easily identify whether or not the person communicating with us is trying to make use of someone else's identity.
Obviously if we try to type in the name we see because it looks suspicious or just to make sure, we may mistake it and find the player info of the person they're imitating. Being able to directly check the person's info from your inbox, without having to worry about typing out the name or trying to coax them into a squad if they're being elusive, will make identifying scammers much easier, making the game less stressful for us players and identity theft much more difficult for scammers, potentially lowering it by quite a bit.

It works wonders in the Massive Multiplayer Online world. Many people have, and ever since trading was first introduced. Nothing ever came of it, though, and we know we've only got a very small team working on Dust, so we try to ask for smaller, easily accomplished things that can work us toward a similar goal. One of the reasons I'd like to be able to check player info directly from the mail menu. Very easy to do, or at least I believe it to be, and beneficial for everyone.
