Good Day,
Right now when you look in front of you you get the full scan precision. I'm not sure exactly how wide you scan precision is but I'm guessing 45-60 degrees.
Why not have a new device / module that increases that?
So if it's 45 degrees, have basic, advanced and complex items that increase your scan precision up to 60 degrees, 75 degrees or 90 degrees. Or maybe percents, so 20%, 25%, 30% So it would be 45 + 9 degrees and 45 + 12 degrees and 45 +15 degrees (for example.)
Make it expensive in CPU and or PG. High, Low, or Equipment?
But what about Scan Precision, there is already a scan precision skill - yeah, but you have to be looking right at them or within a few degrees of right at them for the maximum scan precision to actually work.
Anyhow, something to think about.

So this is a support module for active scanning? If so that is kinda neat idea. I like it.

Actually, it sounds like he is speaking about your passive drop suit scan |

Good Day,
I was thinking just the general suit passive scan, but it might work for scanners.
If you add this to scanners, they would probably push them into OP. In a squad, you could have a proto scanner and add one or two of these devices, complex versions, and they could scan massive amounts of the board to a very low scan precision and just camp out behind everyone and let your squad mates take out most players.
The Flux Proto Scanner is 200 meters and 90 degrees with a 28 dB. This all by itself is a huge portion of the board. Pushing it to 120 degrees? oh my.
If they made this kind of device for scanner, you would have to increase cooldown time (maybe 10 % per level) and / or decrease visibility duration (again maybe 10% per level).
Anyhow,
Thanks for reading this. |

Good day to you too, Siiiir. Why not just change the active scanner to boost the passive for a duration. Currently, the scan precision modules are useless because of active scanning. (Active scanners currently have their own scan precision) Redouxing the current system would mean that active scanners highlight enemies for a duration based upon your suits scan precision. Therefore having suits or modules that have wider degree of scanning would be greatly beneficial and scan suits would become a specialization, rather than another add--on to the many abilities of a logi.
Committed suicide....again...
