Let's just have this event. For the newbs. And the vets sort of.
For the entire month of December wear a front line suit and kill with milita weapons. For every set amount of kills you can receive a milita weapon blueprint. Once you exhaust all of the milita weapons, you can run the challenge again for your very own "quafe" weapons or quafe based rewards.
Also since I feel like the newbs should earn a little extra how about 500 sp per kill in a frontline suit with a milita weapon to be rewarded when the event ends?
Pros:even newbs can do it. Everyone will be in milita trying to earn those quafe weapons. Everyone has a chance to earn a quafe weapon If you're short for isk you can earn money from the matches you play while in your front line suit trying to get your reward.
Cons. Grind.
You can start by earning milita sidearms, then milita light weapons, then milita modules.
Maybe if you get enough kills with a certain milita weapon you can earn a quafe version of it. Or have the "run the kill challenge again for quafe weapons instead of milita"
Made this up on the fly. Let's just have a milita madness for the new year all this proto and officer gear is stale. And its kinda spoiling people.

I can buy one like right now. But why? I'd rather save up for a PC/ps4. If I knew that we were getting a really cool event I would buy a used ps3 and set myself back a little

Love how useless the community is. Suggest a idea to help new players and vets alike and no one gives a fuckinshit.
Practically giving you a event idea that rewards everyone for playing milita suits and let's you earn rewards based on your ability to play in gimped gear and no one wants to offer some constructive ideas.
But no. People just browse over and continue spamming proto and officer and whine that there isn't anyone to fight.

Well I for one would absolutely LOVE an event that encourages people to shelve the expensive toys for a change.
That being said, based on previous events we've had like this, I'm sure it'd be best to get 1,000 SP per each kill scored with an MLT weapon and maybe get a proto AUR version of the MLT weapon you used to score a kill with (past events have done this and they had a limit to the amount of AUR weapons you could earn like this). Also, IMO it'd be better for the rewarded MLT BPO's to be alternate variant ones that aren't purchaseable via the marketplace (MLT ARR or ACR BPO anyone? )
Lastly, it would probably be a good idea to add a SKIN as a reward via daily missions to keep with the... um tradition (? Is that the word? English isn't my main language ) of past events.
BTW did I mention I would absolutely LOVE an eventlike this?
P.S. Sorry if this reply feels weird to read, truth is that this' a re-write of my reply because I'm typing this on my PS3 and before I posted my first reply I tapped my L1 button... jajaja! -_______-

Using Militia Gear to grind Militia BPO's that the person will probably never use is not that great of a reward. Most of the rewards that have required doing something have been fairly large or unique. The upcoming 'Logi Event' is supposed to give a BPO that is completely different than anything in the game at the moment and 10 games event gave a BPO Damage Mod that works on everything.
Nothing wrong with the idea but the reward is dumpy.

....this event is for new players mostlyNot just you. And there is quafe. The milita bpos are for new players to earn and possibly the quafe gear if they really want it. This event even works for broke folk,as front line suits are free and they can earn tons of isk as they try to get their rewards. Plus the whole thing gives out skill pointsper kill Inna front line suit. Read the entire post before you comment please. I'd love to suggest a event for a unique item but the problem is we have a humongous amount of blueprint equipment already, there's so many items in bpo form. It used to be special to see certain bpos but now its just a thing. That also spoiled us. Apex suits have made us unwilling to run a standard isk suit, krins module is so good that its usually in all my fits. Now a repair tool? Don't even have to buff payouts anymore everyone has bpos for everything.

I like your idea i didnt have time to read it yet. If proto come in they should get kicked after first kill in anything above militia.

I'm still a noob to my mind, but at least I have access to ck.0 suits through FW. Even so I think fighting in frontline suits (BPOs would be good) would be a good test of everyone's abilities, and give noobs something fun to participate in. As a noob myself, I can tell you I'd love to feel like I can do more than just die a lot. :) |

No, it's a great idea! But how are you going to get everyone to agree with it? Even just the English speakers will be torn on this one, and then you have all the non-English speakers who are from cultures which may not understand your nuances.
I'm all for this, but we need to find a way to make sure everyone who participates does it. |

Well, I've just been doing this - I had a session playing in MLT suits, Frontline - CA mostly, but with a little Sniper - CA thrown in for fun. I was actually finding it quite invigorating and entertaining to be managing to get some kills in with just the Militia Assault Rail Rifle, when someone hit me from behind from the nearby hill. Only took out about half my shields so no big deal.
I went and changed into the Sniper - CA suit and went sniper hunting! It was REALLY easy to find this guy - he was just sitting on the slope, right there out in the open and his chevron was flashing brightly as I scanned the hill. I hit him easily but at that range, I guess the poor MLT SR didn't pack the punch I'm used to - I only winged him and he ran off, with me taking pot shots at him right across the face of the hill and into a bit of a gully. I moved and found him again, sitting right in the middle of a nanohive bubble!! I took the time to aim carefully just below the chevron and...
Well, the rest is history. I actually felt quite bad about it. I remember my early days as a sniper and the way I used to sit with a bubble right next to me thinking it was the best way to keep fully loaded... I sent him an email offering some tips, it's the right thing to do.
All this from just running MLT BPOs... :) I think I might continue with this, it's actually fun! |
