So first off let me preface this by stating that I joined up after logi vehicles were dropped so I don't know the specifics of why they were dropped, or why they were op, buuuut I had an idea related to them, and a post I saw complaining about vehicle rep tools and why they don't work, and also I suppose to another post lamenting the fact that tanks are ofton solo pioleted.
Anyway my idea: introduce a small turret that is a long range, powerful repper with both infantry and vehicle variants (vehicle is longer range, single strand, and more powerful, infantry is shorter ranged, but allows multiple strands, as well as activly telling the person on the turret(in the case of open turrets like on lavs and drop ships)) This will introduce alot of things to vehicle meta, I believe, such as convoys, or chase vehicles, as well as allowing lavs to more directly support infantry assaults(if the reppers allow self vehicle repair they may also increase survivability, although the lavs need to be put in a place where they ARENT insta blapped, but I digress.) It will also encourage multiple people to piolet tanksby giving the option of on board engineer, and possibly even ads.
I'm aware this isn't the most...clear of explanations but I'm a tad bit out of it at the moment. Thoughts?
Oh before I forget rather than ammo and power upgrades for the repper weapon we could have modules to increase distance, rep aount, and/or number of targets.
you ever get to that point where you know you should sleep, but ya just...dont? yeah...me too.

I still disagree with this idea to change the reps into turrets. The only thing it helps with is making the infantry presence lower to still do spider tanking (the only thing people actually complained about that was somewhat OP about LARGE reps) so one could argue that it's slightly more balanced. However, it's simply not.
1: It won't have to deal with a cooldown to switch targets, which means a much more efficient system.
2: LLV pilots won't be able to do their intended primary role (whenever those sweet yellow wagons come back) of triage solo. That means it will be the only thing in the game in which can't do what it was made to do without help from someone else.
3: They don't actually solve the issue of the somewhat OPness that was Spider Tanking.
Now, I'm not sure if I would be opposed to small rep turrets and the remote reps coexisting, I probably wouldn't be (They would just have to be balanced properly). But removing the remotes? No, that's not going to happen.
And Logi vehicles, as well as every other T II vehicle was removed because they were "in need of a rework". Still Waiting on my Kubera.

So make it if a tank has a rep tool on it the other tanks cant lock on due to interference from the other rep killing spider tanking! Its kind of sad how everyone around here see's issues with thing but no solution!

Your giving up your damage to have remote repairs on your tank. Even if they spider tank there deadliness is reduced. Small turrets would also require the them to be manned. so in a sense 2 spider tanking tanks would take 4-6 people. I think its ok for it to be OP if it takes 4-6 people to work as a team. probably take half that amount of AV to push them back anyhow.
IF you had large turret repairs it would require that you have gunners to do any damage on the battle field.
Spider tanking in the old days you could have both DPS and Spider tanking and that is where it was OP. This solution naturally fixes it.
when the logi LAV comes back then it can have bonus to those remote repair turrets.

With the old setup, and a squad organized, it was more than OP. They were a lock on but you didn't lose a turret.
I'm liking this idea due to the amount of teamwork it inspires. If they were smalls only, and the reps were useful but still low. A rep-hav can follow another HAV but is easily ambushed from behind. Higher requirements on turrets limit insane hardened builds. If it was done wrong, a HAV could have his gunners rep him on top of a good passive while he hardens up and drives into fire. Add a halo and it would be barge spam.
Give it a high rate on installations and a rep-ds becomes an interesting role. A halo, a gunner, and a repairman. As paper-thin as dropships are ATM I see it hard to be too OP. Would need a points reward of some kind to make any of this even worthwhile. Which we have seen exploited before. Tough one there... Start low and see how it goes.
With current ehp and resources, I don't know if a rep-lav would work. Not with whats been suggested so far. Some of the most OP vehicle repping was from limbus/charby, a path I don't know if we want to go back down. (Though i would love to have them and my abron back xD) Would be a handy role though, zoom up, patch up, zoom off. ATM though fitting said turret wouldn't allow tank of any kind..
One hand likes the thought of a gunner repping a vehicle he is in, the other does not. I'm honestly split can't decide. They will both get abused. Self lock doesn't inspire the same meta this idea hopes to create imo. Having gunners rep me sounds amazing xD
