I know this won't happen, but what do you guys think about slotting active kill based SP earned based on what weapon/gear you used to get the kill? So if you get a kill with all militia gear you get way more SP than if you get a kill with all prototype gear. Or even some complicated formula basing it on your gear and the gear the enemy was wearing. Just an idea, opinions? |

Greetings,

This is already in the game to an extent. You appear to get more SP per battle with militia gear than with prototype gear, assuming you do the same basic things anyway. I remember Nova Knife talking about that in one battle about a month ago, then last weekend someone else mentioned it.
Last night I played one battle with my normal militia gear and one battle with my full prototype fit. Please note that both fitshave the same primary and secondary roles. While this was only two battles, I did see a noticeable difference in SP earned between the two battles. I should point out that in my third and fourth battles I tried to do the same thing, but the game conspired against me and blocked my ability to fight the same way in those two battles.

I also think it should work in reverse order, killing people in milita gear offers the least amount of SP active vs somone in prototype or tech 2 gear even. |

It doesn't have to be a complicated formula. You just get, as a bonus, a percentage of the opponent's total sp if you kill them.
* hmm, may have replied in haste. Ok, some skills offer passive damage boosts. So your weapon does more damage even if you are just using militia gear. SP vs. fitting. May need more complicated formula after all. |

QFT
any system like that gives huge problems.
remember that sp > isk, and once the economies open up, there will be people with butloads of isk. for the non-eve players out there, i don't think you understand.
in dust, 1 million isk seems like a pretty hefty amount of isk. i can make that in less than 60 seconds in eve.
when your fitting for your 'average ship' costs in the hundreds of millions, and player wallets are often measured in billions.
alliance wallets aproach trillions. |

well we could penalize killing those in milita armor. |

I love this idea.
I'd love to go into a high level match with nothing but militia gear on, get kills on people making them waste their gear, and then have them finish the match with nothing to show for it. |

The problem is that anytime we reward or penalize based on the quality of the kills you are creating an exploitable mechanism to give "unfair" advantages. For example corp A has their skill mule who goes into every friendly match with full T2 prototype gear, and all of the rest of the team goes in with militia gear. Each team member get's take turns killing the skill mule to get the maximum possible SP per match. Once null sec is added to the game, this kind of match will be trivial to arrange and you will see many people begin to exploit. I know many people who will be willing to spend 1 - 2 M ISK to gain 100K SP. And once the EVE economy is tied to the Dust economy you will see people throwing billions / trilliors of ISK... My EVE character is poor with only about 1B ISK... |

it makes sense becasue it would take more Skill to get a kill.
just like all the Tank abusers should get very little SP for infrantry kills.
depending on what you used for your Kill achieved should determine your place on the team scoreboard |
