I think that the roles of health and armor should be switched in this game. meaning that your armor does not regenerate (but would instead be recharged and supply stations) and your base health would be regenerative.
This would mean that people with heavy armor would not be able to simply duck behind cover and regain exorbitant levels of protection. they may be able to hold their own in a firefight, but it would actually take its toll on their endurance and it would add a bit more strategy to confrontations. If shields were more rationed, it would add more relevance to supply points and add more tension to defense missions.
It would also mean that when a player puts a bullet in their enemy, it is doing lasting damage (hence the term you have used previously "every shot matters"). I think this change would make the game alot more tactical and make the combat less anarchistic. It would also promote balance and undermine generally overpowered classes.
Are you guys open to this idea? |

I'm honestly not sure where the misunderstanding happened for you, but this suggestion is frankly so out of touch with the established mechanics of the EVE universe and of DUST that I'm afraid I'm just going to have to completely dismiss it entirely. There's no salvaging it because the entire point is meaningless.
I'd suggest learning a bit more about how shields work in EVE, or how they have worked in Sci-Fi in general for the past several decades, before trying to redefine what shields are.
Thanks for your suggestion. |

i did say it would be a sizable change, but they can take some liberties for the sake of actually making a good, balanced game.I know that's a fringe stance to take, that a game should play well before anything else |

where does this violate the Eve continuity, exactly? Couldn't we just assume, for the sake of the game, that small, portable shields would not have the capability to self-recharge? is that really such a "universe breaking" concept?
Honestly i really dont care about the game having perfect 100% continuity to Eve online and the same can be said probably 90% of the people who will end up downloading and playing the game. First and foremost, I just want a game that plays halfway decent and is balanced. that is what I am here to insure. I know alot about online shooters, what works, and what doesnt work. I care about where this game stands as an individual game before anything else. |
