Names, and tags alone aren't enough to judge how the match is going to go. I've had enough matches facing enemies who can completely wreck my whole team, but through some savvy tactics, and perseverance my team has won anyway. Leaving isn't the solution, and won't ever be.
As for punishing leavers? I just say make everything they do that match not count toward dailies, and make it so they get no SP/ISK from an incomplete. Basically, I agree with Worthless Target. Other than that, I don't really think a punishment needs to be implemented.

This would be a good idea and solve the problem if everyone was running solo, or if everyone in a squad always got into every match that their squad leader gets into.
However, we don't all run solo, and when a full squad or fire team is queuing for match after match it is not uncommon for someone not to get in for whatever reason. If everyone in the squad had to reboot their PlayStations to reform the Squad every time Scotty gets frisky it would be a huge pain in the posterior!
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

IN ORDER TO LEAVE A MATCH, YOU DO NOTHAVE TO RESTART YOUR PS3 OR QUIT THE GAME. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SIGN OUT OF PSN AND YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE MATCH.

From my experience in game it has gotten worse.
Then remove the ability to stay in the MCC, and spawn people into mid air. |

The only way to stop people leaving, is to add a penalty for doing so. Make it 2x SP and ISK reward of the top earner in that match.
And I mean leaving for ANY reason. True accidental disconnects are so rare that It'll be merely annoying if it happens. |

And this is precisely why I don't play anymore.
There USED to be good and even great games. Games where a bunch of solo players managed to have the skill and ability to read the battle to work well as a team, and beat coordinated opposition. That hardly happens anymore.
And I repeat for the person above me spouting nonsense, you CANNOT penalize people enough to stay! The vast majority of people leaving are leaving because of proto stompers on the other side. The small minority of people leaving because they want to be the stompers and see a game they can't is not large enough to make any difference in removing.
People WILL stop playing all together if you penalize them for playing.
The ONLY way to be successful is to REWARD people for STAYING, especially when on the losing team, THEN more people will stick around.
Stop supporting penalties that may satisfy you baseless sense of vengeance but ultimately kill the game.

Laggy map's = me not wanting to play laggy map = simply leave the game, whether or not the PB is lousy or not does not contribute to this, whatsoever, and completely derailed the thread (if this hasn't already been stated, it is now, #LateForTheParty)
If the maps didn't lag, I'd stay more, pub stomping however, not an extreme issue by far and now, it's just a regular thing.
PC getting hacked, large/small corps farming isk, once more CCP's fault for allowing it to progress this way, PC should have never been opened in the first place due to lack of suits/weapons/vehicles prior, still shouldn't be a thing now, but, too late, damage done, (and who's bright idea was it, to base every buff/nerf off of PC? That's another kind of damage done from it).
PvE is the only thing that'll solve the issue's now, no new PVP game mode, no kind of "PVP FIX", just you and your boy's, vs A.I. .

I know that Dust has a small pool of players, but I'd like to think that there are more mercs than that online at any given point in time.
