Take a page from the EVE Tournament. Each team had 100 vehicle points, a proto tank or ADS for instance takes 40 points, standard 20 poitns etc. |

Seeing there is no balance at the moment...
Two Proto tanks and an ADS WILL winn any battle, they'll lose a few, but some proto stomp teams can do that and only spill whine when they get killed by a militia DS. (rare Fun that)
The primary problem is a range issue. The tanks can often safely sit at the red line and decimate the enemy team, only to roll back to absolute safety whenever someone fields a challenge. Tanks and ADS'es out range swarms, and considering swarm grenades are short lived, an ADS can easily outrun them as well. Give Swarms back our 250m+ range, and add an altitude ceiling worth a damn so the Ads'es can't just sit up there pelting the enemy from a safe distance. |

Say, this could also work with dropsuits and make matches fairer.
Maybe instead of a hard 100 point cap or something like that, instead have a rolling cap, meaning never more than for instance a 50 point disparity (at the time of deployment). Meaning if you are at the current cap, and the other team uses their "allowance" to call in another tank, you suddenly get the room in the cap to call in one more as well. |

Another option to curb the Vehicle spam, one that uses a strategic twist rather than a hard limit.
What if the MCC's only had two transport ships on board (Caldari is named Bolas if I recall) If one is destroyed, that'll limit the enemy ability to call in vehicles. The MCC can build replacements though, at say 1 per 5 minutes or so?
Downside: A team with the upper hand can really screw up their enemy this way though, meaning red-lined teams may lose their ability to break out. |
