Then explain to me why I did better when my connection was being throttled. Lag comp gives the guy with higher latency an advantage but of course there is a limit to that. The guys with 300-500ms ping vs the 20-80ms are lagging just as bad as the people they're lagging out because it's taking way too long to communicate with the server but those with 100-200ms ping not so much. It's why a lot of Americans I've played with would call the euro "server" the "training server" and vice-versa. Because we had a slightly higher latency than the people we were being matched up against. I get less than 30ms pretty much everywhere in the continental US with exception to the far corners where I get 70ms. ~120ms in Western Europe ~180ms Eastern Europe, if latency isn't giving me an advantage why then do I kill more and die less on the euro "server", why do I dance around them like a freaking ballerina? Are you going to insinuate they got no gun game? Cause I barely got any myself and if higher latency is supposed to give me a disadvantage then I should be getting reamed over there even if they're like me and are lucky to hit the broad side of the ground beneath their feet, they should still have a great advantage being the home team. But because of lag comp, they don't, I have it and it's amazing what slight differences make. Part of the reason why I don't like playing so much anymore because near about the only way to get a match without seeing lag on my end is to be an ******* and switch to the Euro "server" but that takes forever because the majority of people are on the US "server"
It's already settled for me I've been on the dark side so to speak and it was a cake walk but hell there's any easy way for CCP to settle this for everybody else. Put players ping to the server in actual ms instead of bars on the players list Maybe then having region influence matchmaking will be replaced with having actual latency influence it and we can watch as 99% of complaints about people lagging disappear, assuming it's properly implemented. Which then, as some would point out we might not have enough players for it to work and that of course is a possibility but it's worth the risk and just might make the player count go up.
Most of what I see around here is just a bag of dicks in need of some kicks.
Dust really needs its high sec.

Yes it's very annoying trying to hit a laggy player, skipping around everywhere, but I find it hard to believe people would intentionally do this.
If the OP is trying to say CCP shouldn't mix players from different regions that's different. I think reducing lag wouldn't be enough of a benefit to justify such restrictions on players around the world.
You see the thing is, the one causing the lag isn't feeling the lag a lot of the time until you get close to the point of extremes. They're not the ones being slowed down by lag comp, what they see isn't suddenly being changed by the server as drastically. Like I said, I've been on that side of the coin, and it's a cake walk. Of course that's just anacdotal I realize, but that's why I suggest that CCP throws latency in the EoM report so we can all see who has what ping and how they are performing. My prediction is the guys with super high latency will be towards the bottom because they're lagging themselves out and the ms will drop and fluctuate somewhat up & down as it goes up the list then as you get closer to the top it'll start to rise a bit, not as drastic as what's on the bottom but higher it will be none the less.
