Why Æ stopped showing

Arirana Ancient Exiles. 1	Posted - 2015.11.16 11:52:00 - [1] - Quote Ever since the 2vRust war our member activity entered a death spiral. For many reasons you can probably guess, other games like MGSV, Fallout 4, etc. being a lot more appealing than doing the same daily grind. The biggest problem was our leadership eventually went completely inactive. Paychecks would rarely be sent out on time, attacks weren't being sent out, defenses were sparse and low quality. The whole reason the +å rebuild was so successful was because of our exceptionally strong leadership, when that started to fail its only natural that the opportunists would bow out. We knew it would happen eventually, even during the 2vRust war we discussed how when Fallout 4 hit SOGgy taco would overcome us simply because we would all be playing that instead. Thats pretty much what happened. However, that isn't the major reason we stopped showing. I'm honestly disappointed it was allowed to continue for this long. Ever since Hotfox four, the server issues have become unbearable. When the countdown timer on the warbarge is rubberbanding everytime, there is a PROBLEM. For most people a single laggy game puts them off, but for us we are used to it and push through it, hell we often blame ourselves and strive to take steps to prevent it.(here's my thread about that btw) But WEEKS of non stop rubberbanding galore is just too much. It's gotten to the point where players who used to be known for their gungame simply spam explosives because their gun isn't fvcking working. Combined with the fact that we went from being able to field up to 3 teams at once to having 5 active members the day of 22 defenses was enough for me and ydubbs to move on to greener pastures. Honestly at this point our core leadership is perma-done with Dust until something major happens. Pretty much don't expect to see us back unless its on a next gen platform. The story line is not too thoughtful, but it's bearable. Hell some of the side quests are funny as hell. I personally love the game and have it for both PC and PS4 (I got it for PC right out of beta) and it was TERRIBLE back then but they did a lot of work with it. But yeah, the thing with it is ^ it's mainly PVP oriented so that kinda puts people off who played Skyrim and like the feeling of being the hero instead of having hundreds of heroes around you. That and it takes place thousands of years before the timeline in Skyrim. I'd say watch some videos and see what you think. As for AE receiving what was inevitable, you can only be as successful as your leadership. If you stopped there in your explanation, it would be a more respectable bow out. I would say AE was so successful because of the waves NF established before the fracture, regardless of what transpired afterwards. As for Dust 514, the game has always been extremely unbearable in regards to mechanics. Don't give excuses to why you are losing territory, it does not better any position you currently stand/stood on. Ari I will say out of all the players in this game, I grew to respect you after working with you in NF and other ventures involving AMBFTW at the time. Going dormant should be your next step. Uphold the name AE instead of writing it off like your other directorate. FA has chosen dormancy many times and is still around to this day as an intended result. It seems you made 2 accusations so I'll answer them in order. 1. I never said I spoke with you, I received a forward message from Poncous Polous in regards to this accusation which you did make certain statements pertaining to this subject. Other than that the buck stopped there, as you didn't really have a value in leadership yet within AE; Im speaking face value to the rest of the opposing PC community. You didn't even have a mic yet. (This happened right after the split I'm guessing?) 2. The remainder of the corp wallet was split half a billion around between 15-17 or so players (25-30mill each) remaining in NF active or inactive (once you guys had heim to pay you for ringing districts that you would later receive, I'd rather have the money tossed to chance rather than line your pockets). Some of the notable players received ISK (Dreis Shadoweaver, James Jared, I think Arkena was one of them) I would honestly need to look on my alt as i forwarded all of the appreciation mails to my alt for naysayers. Alas my effort stops there for you I never played this game to be liked. I only wanted to see how far I could succeed by creating content for those willing to join me, leading the best the game had to offer in PC, and you Ariana, were one of MANY who fell into that category, (like catching Pokemon). I accomplished my goals through leading FA as well as NF. So spare me on whats respectable until you do something worth mentioning, besides just being another slayer for hire. That pretty much points right to it. For me, I would have fought to the last district as long as I could get a 16 man team in. But when you do all of the resets, deleting contacts and channels and mails, etc and it's buggy..it becomes unbearable. Last match I was in, my gun wasn't firing and doing 0 damage. I had to reload my gun 4 times in one 1v1....it was ridiculous. Framerate is one thing but extreme, near game death lag, and bugs are another thing entirely. The physical skill of a player does not define his potential to lead, albeit every player has a value in the actual battle. Ariana served his purpose as a slayer no more than I did my mine as a logi. The only true separation of power was that Ariana followed orders, while I gave them, all under the final say by none other than Kane Spero as CEO. NF never intended war with either RG or OH about 98% of those bouts you mentioned were exhibition matches designated by all participating leadership on both sides. It only came to war with OH when Sari decided to annihilate FA. This led to Himiko asking myself as well as Anon, to FC some of their battles and help them with PC fights, supplying ringers until they got back on their feet. NF by mandate was to clear out enough land for ourselves, sweep all districts housing farm corps, and enforce establishment of new corporations into PC. For most people a single laggy game puts them off, but for us we are used to it and push through it, hell we often blame ourselves and strive to take steps to prevent it.(here's my thread about that btw) But WEEKS of non stop rubberbanding galore is just too much. It's gotten to the point where players who used to be known for their gungame simply spam explosives because their gun isn't fvcking working. Combined with the fact that we went from being able to field up to 3 teams at once to having 5 active members the day of 22 defenses was enough for me and ydubbs to move on to greener pastures. Honestly at this point our core leadership is perma-done with Dust until something major happens. Pretty much don't expect to see us back unless its on a next gen platform. The biggest problem was our leadership eventually went completely inactive. Paychecks would rarely be sent out on time, attacks weren't being sent out, defenses were sparse and low quality. The whole reason the +å rebuild was so successful was because of our exceptionally strong leadership, when that started to fail its only natural that the opportunists would bow out. We knew it would happen eventually, even during the 2vRust war we discussed how when Fallout 4 hit SOGgy taco would overcome us simply because we would all be playing that instead. Thats pretty much what happened. However, that isn't the major reason we stopped showing. I'm honestly disappointed it was allowed to continue for this long. Ever since Hotfox four, the server issues have become unbearable. When the countdown timer on the warbarge is rubberbanding everytime, there is a PROBLEM. For most people a single laggy game puts them off, but for us we are used to it and push through it, hell we often blame ourselves and strive to take steps to prevent it.(here's my thread about that btw) But WEEKS of non stop rubberbanding galore is just too much. It's gotten to the point where players who used to be known for their gungame simply spam explosives because their gun isn't fvcking working. Combined with the fact that we went from being able to field up to 3 teams at once to having 5 active members the day of 22 defenses was enough for me and ydubbs to move on to greener pastures. Honestly at this point our core leadership is perma-done with Dust until something major happens. Pretty much don't expect to see us back unless its on a next gen platform. Its been fun o7 I hope for those of you that stay the servers get fixed soonGäó The true hilarity is that two and a half years down the road this same narrative is still repeating itself. We try to play through framerate drops but you cant play through game making bugs. Also, if you have 6 people in corp....you cant fight either. When the game is active.....you have friends that you can rely on in other corps. But when both corps in an alliance can only field 9 players between the both of them during their prime.....it is time to hang it up. My PS3 is in pieces now, as a fun side project to fvck with, and ANON sold his to get store credit (I am trying to get him to get me Battlefront XD). After the last major update I went through (I guess it was FoxFour), I had game breaking lag and rubber banding... and I couldn't even get into matches. By that point, I had, more or less, stopped playing already, but due to real life stuff (it seems every time I play Dust, a family member dies and/or gets close to dying...) and an increase in work responsibilities... as well as juggling 3 different people wanting to share my bed... yea... So after my grandfather almost died, and I was working (quite literally) 24 hour shifts every other week, my activity ground to a halt... especially on the weekend, when it was a flip of a coin who wanted to spend time with me. Sooooo... I took to reading instead, waiting for the inevitable main line fix to come (specifically, Fallout 4). I was dedicated to Dust, but I felt Dust was not dedicated to me... so I made the decision to never come back. Well... PS4 port not withstanding... i would even buy an XBone, if it went there. Not setting the bar very high here, but I think he would earn that superlative in a lot of groups. Nah everyone that plays dust is human garbage Totally not an alt.
