Boom!
It's a sandbox.. where we make the mess for ourselves.. I have little respect for the "top" Corps as.. what impact did they really make bar their own content and profit.
Since beginning PC, I have brought in hundreds of new PC players, and a list of Corps. Very few have the desire to put up with the crap that comes along with it LAG + stomps. Carebear.. gets no-one anywhere .. but being a **** isn't exactly helping either.
If we want good fights, we have to make it happen.. circlejerking brings nothing but bad gameplay.
It's funny to see the greed and cowardice of "top" players, their actions clearly avoid "good fights" Some may have the skillz but next to none have the mentality to deserve that status.
So much truth in these statements. Hunters who don't understand the neccessity of conservation eventually starve from lack of game. And the only difference between now and 2 years ago is that now you're actually seeing the results of all the useless aggressions, undeclared alliances and general hypocritical bullshit of wannabe kingmakers. Plus the CP limits forced into place because people with the ability to limit the increasingly irreversable damage being done wouldn't. Gee, I wonder where all those players from 15 months ago went? Hurrdurrr..... This is why I like the idea of mercs over soldiers, soldiers believe in loyalty, honor. Mercs believe in money. One has to create content to survive - the other holds land and plays farmville. Groups like KEQ who've thrown around the term 'corp hoppers' are part of the problem. Trying to insert there idea of what this game is rather then the reality of what we are. Alliances are a means to use others to get more or secure what you have. To grow, to create more content. Imperfects, AE, TP, they were groups who understood this, and that's why I stood firmly by them, even when they made terrible calls. Because without them, without them ticking, there was no content being made, because the rest of you are soldiers, not mercenaries. FA is close, but they're not really content makers more then friends with rights. You can try to break it up like that (mercs vs soldiers) but it really doesn't matter. Either/or will behave wastefully when focusing less on fighting and more on passively profiteering. And this is just compounded when individuals feel they possess some inherent justification for being abusive. If consideration isn't made past the most immediate circumstances then the long term results reflect the short term thinking. And all the hindsight whitewashing in the world won't change the facts. Just... one question. How do mercs, who rely on content making, use passive profiteering? That's sorta the entire issue with the soldier types. and while I am advocating that the mindset around here is detrimental, this is still a game, it's survival shouldn't depend on long term thinking, those sort of issue start landing more in mechanic issues. The issues I'm talking about is perspective. It changes everything, and right now with the lack of people from Pubs wanting to PC, there's no cure anymore for getting more people in, this game has no player base. If people actually thought this game worthwhile, we'd see new people every once in a while here in the War Room, a place made to talk ****, and really meet people who want to fight and be competitive. But no one ever comes. instead we get GD peasants willing to throw complaints but not commitment.
They stop simply merc-ing and start creating obviously unsustainable content purely for themselves or their small view of who's entitled to participate. They actively create conditions that promote themselves instead of conditions that promote the continuation of their livelihoods.
And while there's no disagreement about the physical mechanics of how the game is built affecting it's longevity we can not afford ourselves the luxury of thinking that the players hold no responsibility for that longevity as well.
This is an slice of the EVE universe, right? Where decisions have consequences? When the overriding decisionmaking done by those with the ability to make their decisions stick is to basically say, **** them all, then the results will be what we see now. Molden Heath is designed as not just a sandbox area but a persistent living sandbox. And when it's occupants insist on limiting the growth of others within it by whatever litmus eventually it gets to where it's at: the few players in it are largely alone and nobody else anywhere finds it fun enough to bother.
No one comes, imo, because the few who still play actively see that there's no point. "Fight the power" just to become that same power? What a tragically boring and unfufilling outcome from "the top".

You caught me... Truth is I've been smuggling them away from dust for months now. Using my usual mix of romantic talk, sexy outfits, dates, and of course, a good playlist of Savage Garden and Barry White. Truth is, I left them all after I had my way with them and they've all been too embarrassed to return to dust knowing they may run into me. I broke all their hearts and they couldn't bring themselves to return. Remember the Rouge Wedding? That was my way of breaking it off with all of them.
Put this into your rotation and you'll get them back

How dare you sir! Better than giving Activision any of my money.
I never gave Activision any money recently lol
I got BO3 from my friend who is a gamestop manager and gave me a digital copy for free. I never intended on getting it or being involved with another COD, But my friend hit me up with it for free so I can't complain.
The only thing I have bought and played from Activision is Destiny. I really just continued on for my friends like Kota, Imperious or Fusion. Being immersed in games that sink you heavily into multiplayer online, Makes me wanna get games my friends have, Because #StrangerDanger.
I'm really enjoying Fallout 4 for just being a Single Player game I can put time into and gets me away from multiplayer.
I don't like soccer games. Or any sports games for that matter, But especially Soccer games. It can be FIFA, Soccer games with cars, Naked women - Don't care. Not much for soccer.
I do miss having intelligent conversations with you, though, Shep.
