The only thing that could make them change there perspective is maybe if we boycott the game , say they only get maximum 400 players total per day for a straight week, as the other ones refuse to play. Maybe the devs will then realize " Damn , we aren't making no more money. Let's port it to another platform, improved. "
The only problem is , I can't see that happening any time soon. The community acting as one ? CCP taking the hint ? Say it ain't so !
I have said for a long time now the only way a port happens if everyone stops spending. Unfortunately most prefer to tell them self that by spending money they are buying into a port.
The simple fact is that CCP now knows they can get profitable even after terrible implementation and what was previously terrible management. Wow would they not milk up every single cent here before they ask people to move on to another console?
I have done my part and moved on to the PS4 only logging back in here for a PC or two and with the player counts constantly wavering I would say that we have reached critical mass on overall churn. What this means is CCP is already looking at where they are going to go and considering the fact that they started a new version already well over a year ago I believe we could see a PS4 announcement at next fanfest or soon after.

Fixed a small error there mate
Just remember that the PS4 was built to resemble a PC without all of the cross hardware / OS optimizations required for PC.
What this means is dropping that PC version they were already working on on the PS4 saves them both time and money while also staying away from dividing their player base.
As some one that already has both platforms more than ready to go I have no stakes in where they go. With that being said I see PS4 as the smarter business play for CCP as they have already shown their desire to seriously diversify platforms to make the absolute most they can out of the New Eden IP.
Only time will tell.

We already know a new version was started we just do not know if it will persist and what platform it will end up on if so.
I only hope that they break the silence before I have given up on New Eden in general. Had I not forgotten about it I am pretty sure I would have gone ahead and canceled my 2 Eve subs and rode out my ISK before being gone. Oh well thats another $60 for CCP and another 3 months of Eve.

Can you make any argument where developing for PS4 is not both cheaper and easier?
The PS4 is a static platform with its own security integrated.
The PS4 was smart enough to dump the cell processor BS from the PS3 and go with a more PC type architecture.
The PS4 only has one OS.
PC has a minimum of 3 OSs to build too to be accessible. This possibly reaches 15 - 20 if you want to cover the 3 most recent windows, 3 most recent Apple OSs, and the main versions of linux.
PC has an absolutely unlimited combination of Mobos, GPUs, CPUs, and possibly even sound cards to deal with. Optimization for the different combos never ends and only slows up overall optimizations.
PC requires check sums and server side input monitoring to keep security tight. That is not a big deal these days but it is still something that eats up time and slows development.
Now lets look at CCPs diversification of the New Eden intellectual property.
PC - Eve PS4 VR - Valkyrie GunJack - Mobile / Mobile VR PS3 - Dust 514
Obviously with the PS3 dead using the current Dust progress to move into the standard PS4 area is the smart call. Why would they divide their Eve players and spend more money as oppose to continuing their diversification of the gaming arena. It is pretty clear that they do not intend to dominate in any one market but be a jack of all trades using their current IP as their own little secret weapon.
