What if...EvE player can give contract for...lets say 100 clones...and he have carrier/super carrier/ anything that fits fighter (can you see my point yet? )
Mercs with fighters fitted, will be on board of this carrier, with their equipment...Suggesting special subsystem for Capital Ships like Clonebay or some sh...stuff witch will use lot of power grid or cpu, reducing something...CCP you are the brain . The contract..the contract will be from hour XX:XX till YY:YY with the payout for every hour/minute/15m/30m.
And what is going on on PC: Pilot of the CapitolShip is putting his mercs onboard( in fittin screen just like you put ammo rockets etc, when he starts the fight, he can Lunch "his" fighters just like drones. And theres typical eve fight.
PS3/DUST/Mercs: We start from the drone bay in our fighters or special space fighters (owner of the ship should be PS or PC, as I said you the bain Dev's ). Now...as PC player targets the opponent we get our target or if he wants our target could be defend him and orbiting. Range of fighters will depend on PC's skill fit, and if PC player will set "return to dronebay", fighters should automatically set course to drone bay.
I know that this would make some effort to do, that this is not easy, and probably could be in PATCH/DLC in few years, but this will make DUST players much closer to EvE. This will make them fight together, make real use of Corporations while getting control of solar system.
What do you think about it? How does it sound like for you?

I like. I really like the idea of bringing the two games closer together..Basically as close as they can be with out blowing up the servers. |

I really expect fighters to be manned by DUSTers in the future; just like ground troops, once you can make them immortal, it is worth the cost. It would bring together the communities is fascinating ways. |

To be 100% honest, this is what I thought EVE was before I started playing.
I remember playing Battlefront 2, and on a few maps it was in space, you started exactly as you said, only you started in the carrier's hanger, and could choose one of 3 ship types.
As long as dusters couldn't have a huge advantage in space unless they had numbers, since their ships hit like drones. Would be seriously stellar to manually control your ship in eve. Screw the keyboard/mouse + ps3 controller guys, MANUAL control of ships would be the number one bitched about thing though verses the clicky movers. |

Despite the real-time integration with EVE, these games are still in completely different genres, with completely different engines. For this reason, putting two "avatars" (including vehicles) from both games in the same space would be incredibly difficult ATM.
I'd still like it for the extremely-far future, as I too have fond memories of Pandemic-era Star Wars Battlefront. Really hope they make a 3, but DUST has my sci-fi shooter needs covered for now. |

I wrote that this is for future patch, but already CCP has joined 2 platforms. Only for universe, solar systems, contracts, names, corps, funds (maybe).
As they say "the most difficult part is to make 1st step", and for me CCP done this with DUST/EvE universe. And I really look forward for something like that. |

the first step which CCP wants to do is implement walking in stations and then allow dust and eve players to share a drink in a bar owned by another player :D |

So Dustbunnies flying the fighters / fighter-bombers of Eve carriers? Would be pretty cool, but as stated earlier, there's two different game engines at work here. I'd love to see it happen, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
Fighter descriptions do say that they are manned by pilots... *Adjusts tin foil hat in hopes of picking up patch notes* |

One of the things I can see happening in space is having Dust mercs be involved in capturing player owned stations or the player conquerable NPC stations. |

Not 100 percent thenically impossable.. You would just need the chr mapping on each client eg Dust would need access to the chr generator and textures from eve online and eve would need it from dust. Sence the graphics themselfs are not spcific to the game engines. The server itself would only need to send minimal about of data about where each chr was sence the inital load would be the chr being loaded in the screen once that is rendered conversation though chat is just linking the 2 chat servers as 1... |

It's technically possible, and possibly even likely. But let's worry about getting DUST to 1M active players first :) |

I don't think this will ever happen. It would require them to completely overhaul destiny (Eve's physics engine). In doing so, they're have to enable real-time flight controls, calculate the ability for missiles to actually track, make the turret tracking calculations more difficult for the server. In short - It would be hell on the servers and seeing 1000+ man fights without lag (even with TiDi) would be a thing of the past. Forcing the server to need to constantly update to respond to manual player input and then send that to everyone else's client would just be too taxing.
They would not be able to keep Eve stable or as lag-free as possible if they implemented this. |

Nova, in 5-10 years (the time frame I'd consider they start working on such an endeavor) technology will have moved on again. Average connection speed and processing speed with have doubled if not quadrupled. And honestly, destiny could use an overhaul. Never say never Nova, especially for reasons that become more trivial every day.
