I don't get hate threads when I hit on guys in Dust :(
Heimdallr's brother, essentially, verbally Cosby'ed me and I enjoyed it. He did the same to Nick Tekotch, but he deserved it... and liked it.

In all honesty, though, I have experienced more homophobia on Dust then open sexism.
Mysogyny? Yes, absolutely.
Sexist talk amongst guys? Yes, absolutely.
Sexism towards women? Ehhhh... not really.
I have met many women in Dust, at least 10, and none have expressed anything beyond the occasional *******. Is that perfect? No. Is Blacks representation atypical? Absolutely. I like Black Ice, but I think she is wrong, here.

I used it in the general sense, as in its definition: dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women. There is a ton of misogyny whenever a bunch of young boys crowd together, but that should not compensate for, or justify, it's existance.
Considering my opinions on the matter, and my own experience with homophobia since I came out... 18 years ago or so... it is nauseating, but is not nearly as bad, if not mild, when women are around... sometimes non-existent.

I have not experienced much homophobia. I have made several gay friends on this game and even met some lesbians. We all pretty much got along. I mean sure there is always that random 14 year old who talks crap on the mic but that 14 year old talks crap to absolutely everybody. If there was a woman instead of a homosexual, he'd be sexist. The only feeling I get is that of flattery and these gay men are usually mature enough to know that I have every right to like what I like and want what I want. I don't have to like them or return any feelings but if they think I'm cute. they are allowed to do that too. Nobody going to come to my house to **** me. As far as harassment is concerned. This is the internet. Every bit of harassment you face on here is ignorable. When you act like like blacky here and give out all your personal information and history... you are screaming for attention. She does not care about being ignored nor does she care to ignore people she thinks bother her.
Much like it is hard to argue misogyny's presence from a male perspective, it is hard to say there isn't a lot of homophobia when you aren't part of those it is against. I have had several mails call me a "f4gg0t" in multiple languages, as well as had it vocally expressed. As well, the demarcation line is generally receiver dependent... I don't mind the use of that word idly, as I use it a lot myself (my ex-bf used to yell at me a lot for it), but when I ask people to stop using it once it becomes obvious they mean it to be disrespectful directly towards a homosexual and I get the response "Why, are you a ******* ****** too?" I start to draw the line of what is just heterosexism and what is outright homophobia.
On a side note, I noticed that, when I posted the congratulations thread in regards to the Supreme Court ruling legalizing the right to marry, there was a stark contrast between the opinions of the "top tier corps" and the "no names" with the prior being more likely to accept homosexuality and the later much more likely to be against it... even to the point that the thread mostly became a cess pool of anti-homosexual propaganda and damn near came close to what some would call threatening and outright harassment. Then again, I expect nothing less from the plebs left in this game.
The only time I hit on a straight guy is when they appear to be uncomfortable with it, and their masculinity needs to be checked. I can only stand so much testosterone before I feel like I need to have some fun at their expense.
