Since you made Experimental Lab to produce ONLY Experimental Gear, could you add a Officer Lab subsystem in the warbarge that can create ONLY officer gear?

That would defeat the purpose of changing the Experimental Lab to only produce experimental gear. IMHO Officer Gear is a bit too easy to come by in DUST. |

I believe Rattati wants people to earn officer gear through play, not passively. We would have a better chance of getting the officer EoM salvage drop rates increased.

Again, the problem comes down to economics of scale.
True, 1 officer weapon a day for one person is not a big deal, but apply that to any significantly large group combined with trading / market forces and you will see the same issue once again. People will amass huge stockpiles of officer weapons by gathering all those small sources into one larger stockpile.
We would just come straight back to the proliferation issue we just had.

Given that you can effectively just buy officer gear directly with aurum via strongboxes I don't really think that's a terrible problem.

Not always and not all people have aur to buy keys, getting 1-2 keys per day from daily mission will most likely not give you officer gear when opening a strongbox.

Why? With the aurum/warbarge components you'd have to shell out just to level it up, you could probably buy at least a couple hundred gold keys... |
