Some people might pick up a PS4 for Dust, but in all honesty, I wouldn't as, other than Dust, there is only one game I want for PS4 and that's Bloodborne and 2 exclusives that I want to play (not exclusives in general) is not enough for me to spend $600 on a PS4. If I won lotto, then it would be no problem. Actually, cross platform gaming gives massive advantage to the PC gamer for several reasons: Percision Aiming using mouse means no Auto-Aim for them; They can pull off tricky/bullsh.t stunts easier; They can mod their client and possibly cheat a hell of a lot easier, though CCP can put something in place to stop this; Multi-window and multi boxing with an EVE Online alt can mean instant bombardments whenever they need it in FW and PC. There are way more reasons, but these through are just to make make my point that console FPS and PC FPS should not cross play in terms of PvP. PvE is a whole different beast. I have a Xbox1 and I'm not putting more money into consoles. Only have a X1 for Kinect and Rock Band 4. 2) Doesn't matter if it's split as those who are left will be replaced with new customers; because of eye candy. 3) It's a give and take on that. Yeah, console users will be screwed; however, to counter that, you add Aim-Assist that's on the level of Titanfall. I would like to see multi platform, with partitions such that each system could have an effect on some part of the universe without overlapping. CCP has a player base that they are here making money off of which is why they have no super urgent reason to port. Between the costs of a port, the costs of advertising to compete against many shiny new AAA titles, and abandoning a portion of the player base it is something that must be handled with extreme care. This is why I said that CCP needs to come out immediately and announce a launch on a new platform in X amount of months to make sure that everyone has ample time to prepare as well as put some fire back in the game for some people who are getting really burnt out on having no idea what the future is. I already have a PC that would run this easily and my PS4 arrives tomorrow so I am impartial to the platform. For the sake of the player base I do believe we should go to PS4 tho as getting dedicated console players to switch to PC is like trying to start a fire with only water. If CCP was super smart they would get with Sony and make a Dust 514 bundle for the PS4 release which would sell like crazy to our players and CCP would get some favors owed from Sony for slightly boosting PS4 sales instead of keeping players here on the PS3.

I just got my PS4 bundle for 380 after tax and shipping and I still get another 5% cash back on the credit card I used. That brings my total cost to right at $360. Even without discounts there are several bundles now going for $350 plus tax.

I love the PC option but speaking from a money point of view PS4 is the only option. The guys who do number crunching for CCP will ultimately make this decision.

No matter where any port may or may not go in terms of format, the one thing I'm fairly confident of is that cross play between formats isn't going to be on the cards any time soon after. The difficulties of balancing the two control systems, DS4 on the PS4 and m&kb on PC are just too great to overcome. The closest example at the moment, Planestside 2, has the PC and PS4 players on separate servers precisely because of this. Having spoken to a couple of SCE (now Daybreak) Devs in the past at Fanfest, I know they spent a lot of time trying to overcome the problems but in the end it was felt the compromises being made impacted on the playability of both formats. There has been the suggestion on these forums that CCP could have two separate regions on TQ for the Dust players to operate in. One for PC players and one for console. This on the face of it would seem a decent compromise. However such a thing happening would 'splinter' the single shard gameplay that has been the cornerstone of the New Eden universe since day one of Eve Online's launch. New Eden has an over decade long reputation as being the only major MMO with this single shard gameplay. I honestly can't see CCP allowing that to change. So it's going to be one format or the other I believe, certainly in the short term to medium term. If it's PS4 then that would be great as I prefer my FPS action sat in a sofa with a big TV. But if it were to be PS4 it's pretty much a sure thing that the game wouldn't have any form of auto aim assist and full unhindered m&kb support so that if a PC version comes later there would be control parity. No PC gamer I've spoken to on this issue would be interested in playing any game that artificially gimped m&kb to aid console players. If it's PC first, then the same conditions would apply with any later PS4 version shipping with full m&kb support. So no matter what format the port may go to, it's control system is going to have to be m&kb for there to be any chance of cross platform play. Here's the thing, if Dust gets ported to Xbone, PS4, PC or even the Wii U, the community will be split apart regardless of which port it is. Some people might pick up a PS4 for Dust, but in all honesty, I wouldn't as, other than Dust, there is only one game I want for PS4 and that's Bloodborne and 2 exclusives that I want to play (not exclusives in general) is not enough for me to spend $600 on a PS4. If I won lotto, then it would be no problem. Actually, cross platform gaming gives massive advantage to the PC gamer for several reasons: Percision Aiming using mouse means no Auto-Aim for them; They can pull off tricky/bullsh.t stunts easier; They can mod their client and possibly cheat a hell of a lot easier, though CCP can put something in place to stop this; Multi-window and multi boxing with an EVE Online alt can mean instant bombardments whenever they need it in FW and PC. There are way more reasons, but these through are just to make make my point that console FPS and PC FPS should not cross play in terms of PvP. PvE is a whole different beast. Cross Platform play between Xbone and PS4 would be fun, but will never happen due to friction between Sony and Microsoft. $600? Pretty sure the PS4 is down to $400 or $450 by now.
