Here's the thing, if Dust gets ported to Xbone, PS4, PC or even the Wii U, the community will be split apart regardless of which port it is. Some people might pick up a PS4 for Dust, but in all honesty, I wouldn't as, other than Dust, there is only one game I want for PS4 and that's Bloodborne and 2 exclusives that I want to play (not exclusives in general) is not enough for me to spend $600 on a PS4. If I won lotto, then it would be no problem. Actually, cross platform gaming gives massive advantage to the PC gamer for several reasons: Percision Aiming using mouse means no Auto-Aim for them; They can pull off tricky/bullsh.t stunts easier; They can mod their client and possibly cheat a hell of a lot easier, though CCP can put something in place to stop this; Multi-window and multi boxing with an EVE Online alt can mean instant bombardments whenever they need it in FW and PC. There are way more reasons, but these through are just to make make my point that console FPS and PC FPS should not cross play in terms of PvP. PvE is a whole different beast. Cross Platform play between Xbone and PS4 would be fun, but will never happen due to friction between Sony and Microsoft.
i wont buy a console for dust AGAIN i bought my old ps3 for dust and dust alone and at the time i cursed ccp for putting it ona console i wont do it again

I do love Dust, however once my PS3 dies I will be done unless they port to the Xbone or PC. I can't justify spending more money on a PS3 for one game. If they port to PS4, again I can not justify getting a PS4 for only two games (Dust and Bloodborne) as the other exclusives don't really interest me.

All in all this is exactly why I have not been one of the people constantly screaming port, tho I have screamed it. CCP has a player base that they are here making money off of which is why they have no super urgent reason to port. Between the costs of a port, the costs of advertising to compete against many shiny new AAA titles, and abandoning a portion of the player base it is something that must be handled with extreme care. This is why I said that CCP needs to come out immediately and announce a launch on a new platform in X amount of months to make sure that everyone has ample time to prepare as well as put some fire back in the game for some people who are getting really burnt out on having no idea what the future is. I already have a PC that would run this easily and my PS4 arrives tomorrow so I am impartial to the platform. For the sake of the player base I do believe we should go to PS4 tho as getting dedicated console players to switch to PC is like trying to start a fire with only water. If CCP was super smart they would get with Sony and make a Dust 514 bundle for the PS4 release which would sell like crazy to our players and CCP would get some favors owed from Sony for slightly boosting PS4 sales instead of keeping players here on the PS3.
i dont see the issue with dropping the whole console playerbase business choices should be made on logic not emotion pc is a more logical choice

What is more likely is a spiritual successor or a heavily updated version more akin to what we saw from Legion put on PS4/PC. (And DUST's current playerbase is so paltry that relying on us would be asinine)
Simultaneously, killing DUST on the PS3 would be a good idea. Supporting a dying game on a dying console is a waste of manpower and resources.
Would some player be left behind? Absolutely. I might end up as one of them. But as things moves forward, people inevitably get left behind. Maybe they'll try to catch up. Maybe the won't. But CCP must look forward, and not concern itself too much with those "living in the past," because the money that they need doesn't lie with them...
Hopefully, under the course of action I outlined, "new" DUST would have enough new players and old DUST originals to make for a profitable game/port.
its not like they can save all our characters.....and let us keep some of our advances in some way
even if they cant idc although ide prefer that they could i really dont care ill start over and just be happy with the better performance

if u didnt have a pc would you buy a pc for dust given the countless games and other uses for the machine?
