be lucky that DUST is easy mode due to brick tanking and a chest shot and above isn't OHK. nothing to see here guys. just another Sniper thread that will be locked since it's not Assault weapon related, even though it clearly needs the tweaks for balance. move along now.

And I am saddened by how snipers are now. I can't even use em because they are just so bad. We need a buff. We need it now. Am I the only person who snipes in a logi suit? i used to snipe in gal and cal logi suits, but then they nerfed damage mods, and keep buffing everything else. farthest in Uprising for me was 600.12m. a lot of us are saddened by how snipers are. a lot of OG snipers spec'd out of the weapon a while back and went into other things. that's kinda why the few of us dedicated snipers (even if we don't play the game anymore) are the only reasonable voices left to fight for balance tweaks. other guys don't visit the forums or quit the game. definately could use buffs (base damage and range imo) but not without some map changes (redline distance).

Unfortunately if it were like that, they would be op. I've made all of these arguments myself. The way the sniper rifle (snipper riffle) is implemented in this game is a joke.
wouldn't be OP. would be balanced. every other FPS out there, as we've said time again, is balanced around infantry with 100 HP or some variation of it. chest shot takes you down to 25 HP or OHK with proper perks in some games, and head shots mean death. This game, however, doesn't work off of a 100 HP pool. it has various suits of various sizes and starting HP pools. With the current mechanics, head shot multiplier damage effectively does reflect that, but body shot damage doesn't. Take Symbs' feedback into consideration on how it's supposed to be from one of our previous sniper feedback threads and that's how it should be. It looks exactly like how Lightning has it laid out except for a +1 more shot if the person is brick tanking and most people brick tank. you work from the highest HP pool to the lowest. like i said, people have it easy in DUST, yet they cry like it's something new - a new concept they've never heard of cause they wanna hide behind their tanked out suit. play an actual competitive shooter and you will see that that's how sniper rifles are really balanced. why? cause they can't defend themselves up close unless they swap to their sidearm or support tools like C4/Proxies. all it takes is one shot to change the battle. multiple head shots if the sniper's good. go check out DarkBetrayed, MongolFPS, or SgtEnigma's sniper montages and you will see.
