My current Corp doesn't care about KDR. It's about teamwork. Only requirements for PC is lifetime SP, along with a few minor. things like proto gear, etc. My KDR sucks but I don't care. I play for the team and half the time, I die preventing someone else in my team from dying. KDR is and always will be, to me, a useless stat. It does not dictate how good or bad a player is. Only true tryhards worry about KDR.

Trust me, I've had plenty of verbal arguments about KDR with people. But fact is, the guy, say going 2/12 but repping, reviving, etc, with thousands of WP, is a bigger asset to the team than someone going 20/2 but with only thousand WP. Yes that guy with the high KDR played a part but so did that logi who died doing so much. Why I say it's a team thing. Not KDR.

Jack, Jack, Jack...... myself in PC, my max deaths for a match was six. I also was running a speed scout made of glass. However, I was running between points constantly, dropping uplinks, hacking, etc. So yea I died. But what I did, that alone, helped us win PC. Second, no one said 2/20. I've never seen a logi go twenty deaths. My lifetime is low. I catch crap for it all the time. However, 90% of the time, I'm using glass scouts and also towards the top of each battle in WP alone. Now, as a logi, yea most WP I have ever had is being one. If I had ran a solo squad (ability to drop OB and WB), could have easily called a major WB myself. In fact that battle as a logi (my highest ever), our squad had a combined 12,000 WP. But here is the thing, KDR does not dictate skill. You can have a high KDR, but cower as a hit and run tanker (duma) or a sniper (too many to name). Skill is what you do as a whole in a battle, not how many you kill. Case and point, a know of quite a few players who somehow get in to battles where the highest rank they face is Private or PFC. They'll go 40/0, equating to a high KDR. That take skill? No, not really. Not when it's people straight out of Academy. But, it's fine. Opinions are like ***holes, everyone has one. And the KDR debate will rage on until the day the servers for Dust die.

If it means saving another players life it is. And killing is far from a logis job aswell
This as well. Unless you're setup as a slayer logi, being a logi isn't about killing. It's about support for the whole team.

Don't get me wrong, not jabbing at you Jack. Not by any means. And I agree, as a logi, if you get the chance to kill, by all means do it. My logi is set up as a slayer. All equipment is proto as well. Personally, I'm a much better scout than anything. As a sniper (while I originally was), I'm extremely deadly. But as a scout, there is a drawback to all that speed, even using a Scotsman. It's glass. With the uptick in AHMG, BAR, etc, no scout can last long. It's speed is unparalleled (though I have a Gallente Commando with a sprint of 8 or more) but, again, the scout can't take much damage. You'll usually die more in one than any other thing. Probably why my KDR hovers. Side note: Another reason why I die more sometimes is this. Other night, I had a squad with Corp. Five times I died protecting a squad member, me taking the damage, allowing them to fight on. But, again, it's just part of what I do for my team.

Being a logi is quite expensive, if you die too much it will cost you a lot...
Since 2 months i've been running mostly proto GalLogi even in pubs (scrubby me),
but just to have better equipment with me.... (and a little more tank).
Yes and no. Being a logi can get expensive. I agree. But it's also been proven, the higher your WP (along with what you damage or destroyed in suits, weapons, etc), the higher your payout. But it's worth it.

Once seen, a scout is usually dead. But I love being a scout. Only two of my setups have a cloak and shotgun. Most are based on pure speed. The one I have the most fun with is one with complex kincats, nova knives (can't remember which), Tsunami MD, proto remote explosives, etc. But even as much damage as I do with it, it can't take damage at all.

Normal speed isn't great but the Sprint is at 8, maybe a touch above. 400 shields and around 600 or 700 armor. Shotgun and AR variant but can't remember which. Seems to throw people off with a big guy speeding towards you faster than he should carrying a shotgun. I hardly die when using it lol. Fun suit to be honest. Plus it can take a bit of damage, always a plus.

If you get your hands on a Centurion, let me know. I'll PM the setup to you. You'd probably have fun in it lol.

Only true tryhards worry about KDR. *insert thank you gif* That's honestly exactly how I feel KDR isn't a useless stat. There are two victory conditions in Dust. Kill all Clones Destroy the MCC Having a sub 1.0 K/DR means that you die more than you kill in a match, which makes you a liability in PC, as you make it easier for the opponent to win by clones. In Pubs? I honestly don't know who would care. If you're trying to get into a PC corp, K/DR and W/L are two very important stats to look at, UNLESS you're a Logi. For Logi's, I typically use their Kills and KD/R to figure out their deaths, and then Divide lifetime WP by death to get a measure of WP/Death. The higher the better. Source: I process a lot of Apps for FA.
Why I said, personally it's a useless stat. Yes, two ways to win and 80% of the time it's not cloning. Also, if someone has a sub 1 KDR, no, it does not say you die more than you kill. Newer players, even when I started, play against high rank players fairly quick. As a new player, you can die an unrealistic amount of times. Seen it happen so much that it's ridiculous. It takes time to get back even and above, and some people only play with a limited amount of time due to their real life schedule. Even the time's I had a sub 1 KDR in PC, we won. Second, in pubs, as you said, everyone worries about KDR rather than winning. Sad but true. Why you have very lopsided loses or wins a decent bit of the time. And as I said before, some people use glass suits like scouts, which can easily equate to more deaths. Not just logi, which is your focus point. And WP per death is not always a good indicator either. As I said in an earlier post, some battles I'll die due to protecting teammates and using a glass scout, yet I'm at the top in WP.

And I'll admit, my lifetime KDR is abysmal. But it's only like it is, one because I was a headstrong newb when I started, rushing to fight against proto, etc, instead of playing smart, along with a few other criteria that only some know. But again, KDR is not a great stat. I agree with the post earlier saying that if it wasn't there, people would stop striving to top each other on it because it wouldn't be about the stat. It would be about the teamwork, as it should be. But I also only play for the social aspect, not anything else. Quite a few are that way.
