Even if I had played more this year, and gotten used to the new flavors of bullshit, I would honestly still struggle with this one because honestly not only are the reds bloodthirsty but the blueberries are even worse stealing all your kills.
This event is horrible if there's one thing I always PRIDED MYSELF IN DOING in DUST was not being a KD/R *****.
I'm a defensive player. I most enjoy running Logi and Sentinel. I will purposely die to save the objective. I will run to a point with a hacker scout and purposely die to hack it.
My primary concern has always been WP not kills. This event is horribly frustrating for me and honestly? Before this I was thinking about playing regularly again after a long break from the game.
I don't think I want to play anymore. I have forgotten why I got so sick of this game after no-lifeing it the entirety of 2014.
Enjoy your shit game, I'll be on Star Wars Battlefront, a game that was designed for jumpy bullshit unlike this one.

Sounds a lot like where I'm headed. These events just make the game worse than it already is with the bargain basement kill, kill, kill aspect at the expense of any other aspect that could make this game shine.
The problem is that it is already easy to just devolve matches down to the simplest shooty mechanics to win. It really doesn't require anything else as an assist.
Tactics? Lol. Rinse, repeat.

All you need is 3 games of 25 kills or more which can be completed in 1 hour for seven consecutive days it really isn't all that hard or time consuming. |

Truer words couldn't be said. I thought this game was different from CoD and every other generic shooter for its greater emphasis on objective-focused gameplay...but NOPE, Gotta Kill Fast...
Like every other shooter.
Just because it's the event doesn't mean it's right. This shows that CCP is scraping the bottom of the bin for renewing playerbase activity during a downhill spiral. There are many more popular, unique ideas that a number of players can suggest for progressing the game's health.

This event is not too bad. After a two month hiatus, I returned just by the allure of a free respec and completed the requirements in under half a day whilst solo.
Being in the high SP bracket, I found myself going up against coordinated corp squads in every match. I used everything from Commandos to Scouts. All it took was consistency and patience. Also, learning to accept that things were never going to be in my favor helped a lot. This realization had me playing more tactically.
Often engaging from the redline, a Scanner and Rail Rifle on my Logi became a must. Scout suits were used to cherry pick enemy stragglers and Assaults proved favorable in smaller, more open maps. Against troublesome vehicles, my Commando served as a means of control rather than an outright tank/ds killer.
So, my final thoughts on the event is that it is very doable for anyone who is willing to spend some time not dedicated to obtaining kills, but to playing well instead. |

Lol, I haven't even played the game in the last week. Usually, I only play once a week and this game isn't enjoyable enough to play more than that versus all he oher stuff I need to be doing.
Luckily, I have a job and the money to buy respecs. The events need to enhance what fun their is to be had, not further emphasize the problem with the game which is the boring, shooty shooty shooty and not much else.

Why should Blood Raider/Sani Sabik Cultists/Pirates give a **** about your WP or Team Play? Thats not in Pirate Character they want Blood not excuses.
Deal with it.
Maybe ORE or SoE would host and event more suited to you both.

Focusing on playing one game constantly is not good for your mojo
They can't make everyone happy with every event, I remember when they were doing triple SP events where all you had to do was play the game normally to get the reward, players were whining about "CCPeeeEEE I DON'T WAAAAANT MORE SP" hahaha not wanting all the sp i mean come on
I made about 17 kills and 2 wins this last weekend before going "Naaaaah I don't want to stress about this, besides I would have just wasted the skill respec on stupid crap anyways and what are the odds I'm ever going to train giraffe neck scout?"
Then I started playing Fallout 3 GOTY again for the second time since I got it when it first came out and had a good time
There will be other events
Maybe even if we're lucky they won't be focused on kills or wins or installation destruction |

People complaining about a kill event after several other kill events after several events that went beyond simple kills and were great ideas. This game is not just about simple shoot mechanics. Well, it isn't supposed to be but, CCP just can't measure up to their grand vision. It is boring to to just reduce things down to run and shoot processes. Everything else in this game is a testament to the variety CCP was trying to implement and keeps failing to accomplish. They just keep coming back around to the lowest common denominator and that doesn't keep ppls interest for long.
This CPM seems to be on the side of going beyond simple infantry assault shooty progression thank God. Enough with this "I hate vehicles and support roles, just point and shoot and point and shoot again" mentality.

The pew pew shouldn't be the primary aspect of events when the idea of the event as part of the game and the game itself is supposed to be fun, can have variety and more importantly, interesting enough to keep people's interest for the long term.
This is what the adults have been talking about, the kids and the low IQ folks need to catch up and stop oversimplifying the arguement.
We all understand the shoot and kill aspect. That is not what is being questioned. If that is all that CCP focuses on, people that don't like just chasing shiny things will eventually lose interest and stop spending money as well.
If EVE was left up to these console kiddies it would end up like Galaga. I fear for Valkyrie; I really do. It will start more like EVE and get whittled down by these console types to Space Invaders.

The one good thing about getting shot up in these tryhard events is I can do some "housecleaning" by running all the 'neo' suits and aurum fittings I've gotten from salvage... Not only can joke fittings be fun occasionally, but I can be really aggressive/suicidal since I'm trying to clear these suits out of my inventory... |
