This, this, a million times this. Ghost I love you. You have no idea how satisfying it was to see eve players showing a genuine interest in how dust affects them. It was crazy to see how little they know about us as well. Damn you I have hope again :/
Can you post the reddit link please for everyone?
Edit: must read guys :)

JIMvc2 wrote:This is something that I strongly support. Make it happen. Let EVE players in FW issue contracts and us Dust players join. Instead of the broken Search for battle system.
Those contracts would vary from security space from High to Low.
The lower = better the payment but it would be risk. Kinda like a Risk and reward system.

It doesn't even need to be contracts generated by eve pilots. A change in battle creation should be made that allows conflicts to only occur in border areas and hotzones in eve fw space (with more attacks generating in areas with greater eve activity, ie: akidagi).
The only change that needs to occur eve-side is a notification that awares them that battles are taking place and the outcome of said battles to let pilots know of a system vulnerability change (attack on x district successful, +/- 3% to vulnerability).
This alone would not only give us dusters a sense of purpose, but it would also create a reason for eve corporations and alliances to have dust divisions or even eve-dust hybrid corporations. It would create meaningful battles that have a real and tangible effect on new eden. I think others would agree that this is the real reason we play dust, to be able to sway the outcome of battle, to actually change something.

God bless the Biomassed Skype Chat.
Also, he doesn't like being called Ratman. You've got me re-downloading Skype over here. I would love to contribute on the eve forums, but alas, no eve toon.

Avallo Kantor wrote:I'd argue we should also get some tools on DUST side to better "see" the faction conflict.
EVE already has a great little panel that gives info on the Faction War if you are in it.
For starters there is the over all control bars that show how much of each faction controls things, and what tier their control is at (1 - 5)
I think what DUST needs is a way to get a view (outside of the EoM screen) that shows this level of control, and maybe even the results of the last 5 or so battles. Give players in game tools to look at how the Faction War is going and an indication of how WE are influencing it. A major factor for why EVE is popular is the feeling of being able to impact the larger universe, and DUST players need to feel that same thing with FW.
We already impact the universe, we just need some tools to let us see how.
Its true that we have an impact, but when we are fighting battles in a region 100% controlled by caldari with no conflict in sight don't you think our efforts are sort of fruitless?
