Currently, restocking in-battle requires that you purchase things evenly. If you have 26 Primary Weapons and just ran out of grenades, the Restock function requires that you purchase 26 Grenades to keep your fitting valid.
It is possible to purchase items individually in battle in one of two ways;
Via Fitting - Select fitting, click "Edit", highlight item you want to restock by using the circle shaped menu, select that item, click Restock, and make your purchase. Via Market (using Assault Rifles as an example) - Go to Market -> Weapons -> Assault Rifles -> Purchase the AR you want.
To me, at least, this cascade of menus necessary to purchase individual items is pretty inefficient. Why not allow us to purchase individual items directly from Fitting? For example, immediately after clicking "Restock", a menu similar to this would pop up;
Dropsuit: 9 + Primary Weapon: 26 + Secondary Weapon: 14 + Grenades: 4 + Equipment A: 13 + Equipment B: 7 +
(The + = Purchase more of this)
You would be able to highlight one of those things specifically and purchase as many as you want, without goofing around with all the other menus.
Thoughts?

Greetings,
Quack Man wrote:The thing about restocking is it must be done evenly. Ummm, no, you can buy single items in lots of place, including the middle of battle as well.
Actually, I bought 5 nano-hives while in the lounge yesterday, I bought 20 Myron's while sitting at Objective C, I bought 1 remote explosive while waiting for one of my Dropships.

Really? Because I tried restocking my sidearm in battle, but I was into the twenties on the ticker before it started adding ISK.
Do I actually have to go to the sidearm on the loadout to do it? |

Instead of restocking in "Fittings", go to "Market" and buy the individual item there.
If I remember correctly, restocking only restocks the items that you're missing so that you have X amount of stock for that fitting.
If you were out of grenade but had enough of everything else for 10 fittings, then restocking up to 10 would just stock up the grenades. |

Ok, so to restock an AR, would I have to go through Weapons > Assault Rifles > and then find the weapon?
If you say yes, I'm gonna edit my post to include a more simplified version of all that. |

or alternatively go to your fitting, then go into the fitting, from there select the module you want to restock as if you want to replace it, there should be an option to restock, that will just restock that individual item |

So I was wrong and buying individual items is possible, but it could still be done more efficiently, which is what I'm trying to get at. Why can't we just click Restock from Fitting and then be able to restock each aspect of the fitting independently? Instead of opening this cascade of menus and wasting time? |

You already can. Go to the fittings window, select the fit you want, select the item and click restock... You are now restocking just one item.

What I'm suggesting now (just edited the original post) is that we take the "select item and click restock" step out of that process. So right after selecting the fit you want, every item in that fitting comes up (note: I am not talking about the circle menu that comes up that requires you to use the analog stick to highlight what you want) and you can purchase what you want. |
