Why are so many people just leaving battle they leave before the battle even begins this has become a huge problem in tired of fighting a full 16 with just 7 players its frustrating then the enemy team usually ends up running officer because they know 7 players aren't bout to do ****
im just a scrub here, to u know, do things helpful like ummm commenting,complaining,and giving terrible advice thats it

It's because those people suck.
I wish it was setup so you can't see who you are fighting against before a match starts. A lot of people seem to quit after realizing they are about to go up against certain people or a certain Corporation. |

I know in our case recently it's been due to the dreaded BLACK SCREEN OF SUICIDE. Instead of suiciding in a proto fit, the player afflicted with this dreadful malady will simply leave battle. Since we're usually running in squads (2-8 players depending on the mode) we all leave battle.

You do not lose a fitting when you suicide with the 'black screen'.
When the 'black screen' occurs no information pertaining to your character is actually loaded into the game which is why when it does happen you don't have any weapons or anything; even if you look at your Armor and Shield amount you will see that the numbers for those are way off. |

You probably already know, but just in case someone doesn't...
...the black screen can often be solved without suicide. Anecdotally, zooming in on the map fully and/or selecting non-default spawn points (i.e. player dropped) helps prevent the issue. Less anecdotally (i.e. I've done it myself), pressing START repeatedly to enter/exit map view will often spit you out into the match (albeit without weapons), at which point you can find your way to a friendly Supply Depot and select a loadout, and you'll be good to go (caveat, I have been in a match where everything worked up until this last step, but upon selecting a loadout I reverted to the blackscreen bug, at which point I had to suicide or leave).

Can't speak for anyone else, but I left quite a few blackscreened matches over the past couple days. If there isn't a supply depot nearby, I leave battle.

It's because some don't like certain maps due to the spam playstyles used. Some don't like to fight certain players or corps because they are known to be lagging and skipping about the place all the time.
Players have the right to choose, and as much as I prefer 16 v 16 the truth is when you see a q sync of Carne con papas I'm out?! Not because I don't like to fight. Just that I don't like to lag about getting insta-killed by their extreme damage distributing mods.
The maps need some well needed revamps sure, but the majority leave because they see Zen kill society, prima, carne, cap Aqc, etc. rolling deep opposite them. Everyone gone say that's not it, but we know it's true.
Lack of squading doesn't help either. Players encouraging solo play don't seem to realize how badly that hurts new bros. While I can climb in my SHAV and do well solo, they don't have 91 mil SP. They need to be in squad to prosper! Again, a guy with less than 20 mil, not in squad, facing total annihilation by carne in a factional.... Yeah I'm leaving too.
Iberica racing team 10 deep will d*mn near light your playstation on fire lol! Some players just prefer to not be robbed by framerate loss/lag/latency. I know I do! It just doesn't sit well with me that I will face SOG in a match completely lagged out, not relog, and the next match is perfectly fine. All the matches before them were normal too....?
The common theme with most of these corps is the high percentage of them who are using modifications to mask poor play.
We can't, and I'm guilty as well, sit around and blame newer players for choosing simply not to fight all battles. They have that choice. We can encourage squads to lower the numbers of guys leaving battle though.
I squad 8 deep in factional all the time, and no one leaves battle when they see me. We have some great battles all day until the modders come back.

It's kind of a funny argument, player behavior. On one hand players leave games because corporations and players refuse to play any other way other than protostomps. Then on the other hand people complain that players leave games.
Personally with the attitude of most "vets" I will now encourage leaving games. I realized this is probably the most effective way to fight against proto stompers when you have low SP. They refuse to use any other kit except the best, then I'll simply refuse to fight them and find a new game.
Enjoy less kills, worse games, less isk and less SP. Meanwhile I don't mind leaving 2-3 games in a row where I'd only get 2-3 kills and hardly any isk or SP. As a new player it is far more worth your time to find a good game instead of playing against proto stacked squads. |
