So today Calmil had a good chance of taking Akidagi - they set themselves up, fought a bit and eventually moved on to bashing the ihub (the structure that flips the system control). As the ihub gets to about 80% armor remaining, Dust happened.
The Gallente Dusties must have been doing well at the time. The conquer modifier in Akidagi ticked further in favour of Galmil which caused the ihub to go invulnerable. Calmil now had to take care of a few reds in system so they could run a few plexes and keep the bash going.
Whether you knew it or not, if you were running Gallente FW today you had a real impact on Eve.

That guy that told the FC 'It was Dust' sounded absolutely disgusted at us

Nah that's the ihub - a big, permanent (at least in FW) structure with lots of hitpoints. You can feed them LP to upgrade a system your faction owns. An upgraded ihub will make it more difficult for the enemy faction to take over your system.
If you want to take control of a system you have to first get the ihub into a vulnerable state, then remove all of it's shield and armor HP. After next DT the system will be yours.

Use on a planet/district to greatly increase the chance of RNG Jesus selecting it for a match
I posted this in the Council Chamber thread but I'll re-post it here to get more feedback (hopefully).
FW'ers in Eve already pay LP into their ihubs to upgrade their systems (basically make them harder to conquer). These upgrades decay over time which means they need to be topped up.
An extra LP slot could be added to each ihub that has a very fast decay (from max to 0 in 24hrs). The higher the amount of LP in this slot, the higher the chances that your Dusties will fight in your system. Kind of a way for Eve FW'ers to mark certain systems as 'important' in regards to Dust.

Even though I have played some EVE faction war (mostly OB support), I am not aware that the attackers also can deposit LP in ihubs? If not, wouldn't that present a problem since (as we all are aware) Dust can't select where to fight, only which side. I.e marking a system as important (for defence) might actually cause more attack contracts for the opposition to be generated?
You're right, it's only the system owners that can deposit LP. The idea was that if the system is about to fall, the owners can throw in the LP after letting their own factions Dusties know they'll need to bring their A-game for the next little bit.

It's a catchy title though, isn't it?
