i don't want to be invincible, too boring.
but i also would like to not have to run away unless i use a specific fit
incubus is somewhat usable but you kinda have to flee after the first hit with a hardener

Dump it into core skills, then whatever you enjoy fielding (jumpy md/plc -anything fun)
Chase a fotm after you have done that.
It's hard to beat up hundreds of armor piercing bullets using only your face...

False. I run tanks very well with only 1 hardener. You just need to know when to pull back.
My Maddy fit includes 1 hardener, 1 rep, 1 plate, and a pg mod, 2 reps when it fits.
My gunny includes 1 hardener, 2 extenders, and 2 damage(missile) or 1 damage and heatsink (railgun).
You only need hardener when AV is heavy or when confronting another tank. Yes ther are moments when 2 hardeners are necessary but it's not true that they are NEEDED. 1 is enough

i know when to back off, it's just the calmando swarms doing so much, i can't do anything sometimes, blaster is too inaccurate, bursting

I've been having fun working into speed scouts, with shotgun. Or try the jump assault, both take a decent amount of sp to get into. Get into biotics, it made this game fun again.
Don't blink it will be over quick
