Not sure if this applies to the event , as battle timers seem the same for me.

Having all these players online and trying to actually win / kill did seem to prove that the matchmaking can work and make for some great matches.
Some corp mates commented that they had the best pub match they'd been in in ages.
I may have been a bit salty after my last match last night for only coming 8th, but it was a great match. It was very close.
The top 8 players on our team (including me) all had over 1000 warpoints at the end, some had a lot more. It was the same story on the other side.
In the match I saw a wide variety of infantry roles and weapons. There were also dropships and tanks involved. Even a couple of snipers were being effective.
I just wish we could have these numbers, and this desire to actually fight, all the time. |

Which ones friend? And I will be checking to verify. Again, I say 3 years or older on the ps3, let's see what you've got. I get that you're bitter, but you just sound like you're whining. There's better ways to express your distaste than to be closed minded to other people opinions. If my understanding's correct, Modern Warfare 3 (2011), Battlefield 3 (2011) and Black Ops II (2012) all still have pretty healthy headcounts. Can't tell you how many of my old CoD buddies still play the older titles on previous gen due to distaste for the more recent releases. DUST has some kinks to work out, no doubt, but I still believe the game has enormous potential. All high tier triple a titles, I'd say dust has done well considering its competition and could do so much more.

Absolutely agree. DUST is truly unique. If CCP were able to work out the performance issues and improve upon NPE, I believe we'd observe playerbase growth ... even on the old PS3. Folks play what they enjoy; if that means playing previous gen, they'll do exactly that.

I have a ton of later-gen games and consoles, but lately, when I want FPS, I've been coming exclusively to DUST. It's special.

Dunno where the f*ck you nerds got it in your heads that DUST only has a 2,000 player population, total. Explain my question. Then why I am playing with/against the same people every match everyday? If there is 3000+ players....
Because of match making, server selection, and the fact that 3000 is only the peak so there is a better chance that you are actually online at a time that counts are more like 1500 - 2500.
