If any of you can answer that I'd be amazed as it's clearly never crossed anyone's mind but mine..
You see if you'd catered for solo and casual players and gave them something to get a break from constant squadding your player base would've been much larger, which means more money for ccp, which means more investment in game production, which means quicker hotfixes and improvements with more staff, which means a better game, which means even more people play it, which restarts the cycle...
That's basic business and not just CCP or CPMs but alot of the stubborn vets are to blame for not following this simple rule
I work all day talk to colleagues, friends family clients, sometimes I wanna play dust and just chill and not have to talk or delve into deep tactics... At this point some vet will respond saying 'go play another game, in dust you HAVE TO SQUAD' and the problem is... People do go play other games.. Honestly I think the bitter vets are the problem N have too much influence on the direction this game has gone down... Feels to much like cod with higher ttk and much less balance in matchmaking.. Where's the depth we were promised? Even cod has pve lol
I do agree to a certain extent. I have always been a solo player prior to playing DUST and, while I do enjoy sometimes squadding with like-minded people, that's usually only 1-2 people max at a time and I don't want to be in a squad 24/7 or face squads 24/7.
With all that being said, I don't think that has been the main problem. I think the problem is that it's either you're up against a squad with blueberries on your team not doing much of anything or you're part of the team with the squad that's organizing efforts against players that get easily pawned.
I like challenges, but there is a line; battles you'd be a fool to engage in because there isn't really much of anything you can do when other people on your team either do not have the capabilities to do anything or are just not skilled players. Matchmaking is the big problem.
Squads should be in place to go against other squads and if matchmaking could be engineered to put people with squads made up of 3 people or less or who are solo in organized matches, then it would be okay. Then you have to keep in mind the skill gap between newer players, vets, and middle children. |
