This idea came about from all the complaints about squads being OP. I don't think squads are OP, but rather teams are UP.
Squads are able to alert each other to danger, request specific assistance, designate objectives, co-ordinate attacks, etc. etc. You can see where their edge comes from. Teams as a whole have no way of communicating with each other, all they can do is guess what their teammates need. Planning is impossible. So how do we give all that to teams?
- Objective markers that squad leaders put up could be rendered for everyone on the team - green for your squad and light blue for not-your-squad. Now everyone can see where the other squads are heading/what they are doing. - Add some 'gestures'. Need ammo/need reps/danger/cover me/pulling back. Just the few basic things that you usually say to your squadmates that help things move along smoothly. - Add an attack order that has a countdown timer of say 15 seconds. A squad leader throws it on an objective and suddenly all the solo players will know that if they push up when the timer hits 0, they'll have support.

Yeah, exactly. That kind of thing. Even knowing when/if other squads have the WP for a minor/major strike in pubs would be cool. Combine that with the timed attack marker for maximum carnage!

FC can give orders thst appear Blue for the team and players can +5% WP gain for following these orders. Squad orders are changed to the colour green as not to confuse squads.
Thats just my 2 cents, I love the rest of your idea.
Funnily enough there's an interview with CCP from aaaaaaages ago where they said that the game would include a commander position.
How would you choose who became FC?

How would you choose who became FC? 1st iteration, just until they can programe it properly, chosen randomly from squad leaders on the team 2nd iteration (once they can properly code it): Chosen from squad leader with the highest lifetime WP. In terms of PC, give players the option to be the FC if they hold the roles of CEO/Director/Terrestial Combat/Logistics officer. CEO has it by default, but they can make other players with those roles the FC for that battle.
Nice. A vote system would work for PC (and maybe FW) as well. Don't think the lifetime WP would be too hard to implement right off the bat as everyone has that figure attached to their character sheet, so it's probably a bit of data they take into battle anyway.
