OP. If squadding up is such a terrible game-breaking mechanic, how come it works just fine in literally every other FPS ever?
There are a couple of problems that squads exacerbate, but they are not the cause. Baby with the bathwater and all that.

The most OP thing in any multi-player game is when multiple players work together. This is nothing new. I think Dust could do a few things to encourage whole teams to work together better, but removing squads isn't one of them. Instead of asking for a core gameplay element to be straight up removed, why not come up with some ideas that would encourage better teamwork? That's really the problem here, isn't it?
Squads are able to alert each other to danger, request specific assistance, designate objectives, co-ordinate attacks, etc. etc. You can see where their edge comes from. So how do we give that to the rest of the team? Right off the bat, objective markers that squad leaders put up could be rendered for everyone on the team - green for your squad and light blue for not-your-squad. Now everyone can see where the other squads are heading/what they are doing. Add some 'gestures'. Need ammo/need reps/danger/cover me/pulling back. Add an attack order that has a countdown timer of say 15 seconds. A squad leader throws it on an objective and suddenly all the solo players will know that if they push up when the timer hits 0, they'll have support. Damn, I actually like this idea. BRB headed to Features and Ideas.

wow way to contribute to the players-working-together plague Dust is experiencing.

Even if you forced players to squad , you still will have the same problems because you will be pitting them against people who have been playing together for sometime now , they know each other's tendencies , they know each other's strong and weak points , what their specialized in and the fact that that information , the time played together in coordinated efforts from being ex or current corporation mate , helps in fighting against players that don't have the time , effort put in , knowledge of each other and the ability to put up a coordinated effort not to mention things like mics and such ... it's just no contest and you will not find a shred of balance in pub matches until you can guarantee that if there is one squad on one team , that it would be another on the other or if there are random players on one team , that the other would be comprised of the like and right now , that's not what we have .
Other players are OP, CCP plz nerf.
People get good at video games. People get good at working together in video games. There is nothing inherently 'unbalanced' about a game that lets players work together. Good squads wreck in Desinty, Battlefield, TF2, CS:GO, Planetside 2, etc. etc. No one complains about squads being OP in those games. You know why? Because everyone with any sense about them already knows that teamwork is OP. You either set a challenge for yourself by running solo, or you join a squad and get your teamwork on.
EDIT: having said that a mode that is a solo-q would be a fine idea. I think ambush.

The brutal truth is most people wanna play games to chill, they aren't social vampires like you who's only communication with other people is over a game... I talk all day to colleagues, friends, family, clients sometimes I don't want to talk and sadly for CCP this is true of most people in the real world so forcing people to HAVE TO BE IN A SQUAD TO EVEN PLAY A MATCH and not even giving people a gamemode or something to have a few chilled games is moronic!
If I'm a Mercenary why can't I take jobs intended to be done solo?
If any of you can answer that I'd.be amazed.. It's clearly never even crossed your minds LMAO i work 56 hours a week and still find time to proto stomp the **** out of crybabys scrubs. I can do it in a squad or i can do it running solo. Dust ain't the game for you there is many other games that are user friendly for the non competitive gamer. Try rocket league with the soccer cars. if you were a good enough mercenary you Would be able to handle yourself solo. The problem is not the game it is you. Haha You have an incredibly short memory... I've played alot with and v you and your not even close to my level.. If they make a no squad gamemode I doubt you'd play it as you'd have to face me 1v1.. Don't you think I kill you enough already? Fine I'll be part of a Proto squad then and I hope we meet so I can see you Quit game :) You're funny.
Literally fight me 1v1
