1. Most maps/encounters happen in close to mid range. Woth the gal bonus and skill, you are most likely to win all confrontations
2. Armor rep/tank. Armor (even with shield buff) is still the FOTG (flavor of the game). And reps are really important for armor. The Gallente can do both. 2 plates and 3 reps= about 700+ armor and 30+ reps.

Never pick suits based on current meta as those often change. If you pick based upon how you play, or what role you want that suit to fill, you will be much happier with your choice in the long run.
In between minmatar or amarr i have to decide, i like cr and acr, but in amarr i would use ascr or arr. My style is preety casual, i have been using adv min assault and amarr.

MN Assault is old FoTM. Heavy usage rates. Would avoid. AM Assault just got hit pretty hard; would also avoid. GA Assault is likely the new FoTM, but CA Assault is another safe bet. The latter will likely get buffed to the moon before the former is asked to give up anything (a healthy portion of CPM2 run Gallente).
Any good gal and amarr suit fits? Like with 15+ rep
