and if you are heavy or swarm launcher you should be able to use only your pistol if u have equipped or none , i cant imagine shooting a heavy machine gun from that position ,
swarm launcher might be doable , as for assault and snipers you should be able to use your main gun .
Since all you can do now is looking around being able to shoot should be in , makes sense.
Right now as a LAV passanger you are useless. |

i have no windshield and im not in a covered cockpit , those are meant for shooting as a passanger too
Lets say there are 3 people in a LAV ,that makes you a bigger target too , driver is busy driving , turret guy is doing his job engaging the target BUT there are more targets on to your LAV and what do you do as a passanger?
Your LAV has no cockpit to protect your silly passanger ass but you have guns to engage the rest of the attackers BUT you cant use them , YET i hope.

Now here is a good idea, making everyone in the vehicle useful. After all if on the battlefield you are not killing the enemy than you are useless, and if your are useless you might as well be dead. A LAV does make a very good transport vehicle if it only has one seat for moving people around. The LAV is made for close range squad level fire support. and a person siting it it not helping is just another bag of meat waiting to be slaughtered. |

Isn't it possible to shoot and kill passenger as they sit in the vehicles? If so I support them being able to shoot out too. Hell, I support it anyway. |

Right now as a LAV passanger you are useless.
I like this idea. I also think that you must be able to shoot the enemies instead you're just travelling in the passenger seat. |

This should be a feature. I believe the first trailer showed being able to shoot from non turret position of a drop ship. Also, if you're able to be killed as a passenger you should be allowed to at least attempt to defend yourself. And, I don't just mean death via vehicle explosion. |

Was that BF2 where you could sit in the cargo area with 1 guy as a support dropped the ammo crate, while you just spammed the c4 fromt he back onto the ground.. I called it ghetto carpet bombing... ahh.. the good times..

It always bothers me I can just shoot out of the SHOTGUN seat.
Not sure if there should be any limit though. maybe only sidearms or lights and sidearms. it seems impractical to try and shoot a forge gun when sitting in a seat. |

I was actualy surpize by this when i played last night for the first time. I figured HALO had so much sucess with their warthogs and the passangers being able to shoot (i actuly figured you guys took inspiration from the warthogs when designing the LAV's). I was suprized when i realized i chouldnt shoot when i swaped to that seat while experimenting with the LAV.
Like others have said, i dont expect to use a HMG or a Sniper rifle wile sitting in the passanger seat, but SMG's, AR's, Pistols.. the smaller stuff, yea. |

This makes a lot of sense, and would go a long way towards broadening the role of LAVs. A shotgun seat gunner plus a turret gunner would make LAVs something that had to be taken account of on the battlefield.
And while we're on the topic of gunners in vehicles - we all saw that video and we all want it - personal weapons fire from a dropship. This is DUST, we absolutely gotta come in hot. |
