Inb4 "get a squad" , **** you I play how I want. Joining a squad shouldn't be a requirement to enjoy the game. I've always liked playing solo for the challenge and it never used to be an issue.

I get the black screen when I am thrown into a Skirmish match but I don't seem to get the black screen when I play Acquisition. I played Acquisition all day yesterday and a few FW matches and I don't think I received the 'black screen' once. My first match today was going to be Skirmish but I got the black screen and then I was kicked. I took Skirmish off the queue and only ran Acquisition and I had no problems.

^ Amen to that. I'd rather get my teeth kicked in solo than be bored out of my mind in a stompsquad. Seems to be one extreme or the other as of late.

It's a team oriented game geared toward team play and tactics. There's comms, vehicles with multiple roles, complimentary roles in dropsuits, bonuses to running in squad, etc.

Personally, I don't feel CCP should change the entire direction of THEIR game so COD players can twitch strafe and send "get gud" mails?!

You can literally be a part of the team in every single role in the game. You can also play every role solo, but without squad benefits. Getting whacked by four guys communicating your location, and expecting different results is insanity.

You guys needed a game like this to bring you back to reality! I love how close to realism CCP tries to bring this game to! Get rid of the childish jump mods and unrealistic strafe speeds, and we might be making progress. Video games like COD give youth an unrealistic idea about something as real as war. You think I'm over reacting, but I'm actually in the army, and you wouldn't believe the amount of chair jockeys we get that think they're "operators" and know weapons lol!

If you play solo you will do alot worse than the 4 man squad. Why do you guys think you should be wrecking 4 guys, on comms, by yourself? I'm not saying it's not possible, but it SHOULD be hard!

I agree with the OP about the lack luster battles in the pubs. The pubs suffers from lack of team play, squads, and team work. No one helps the blues or newbs with training or in battle. Everyone is so worried about their personal kd ratio that they let blues die in front of them, and let newbs run fits they don't fully understand so they can be easier to kill.

Guys complain about the pubs, FW, and PC, and don't get me wrong so do I! However, the real problem isn't the squads, but the lack thereof! 4 man squads means, theoretically, 4 squads per team. Each squad is capable of either pushing/defending points, working as AV, running vehicles together, playing scouts and Ewar together, etc. If more of this was going on the battles would be much better all around!

Instead, we have 12 solo players, and 1 4-man squad trying to do everything by themselves?! FAIL! The 4 man squad is getting trashed by at least 3 4-man teams. While the 12 blues aren't helping out?! 5 have started sniping, but have to look for singular targets without any intel. 2 are in rail tanks... basically sniping in a bubble?! 1 is scouting in utter futility because 7 are in the redline not spawning?! Some more are pushing into walls of bullets with no help, that's you?!

Do you see how dumb this solo bs is?

My advice? Find guys you're compatible with who's roles are varied and complimentary to your own. Make sure their personality matches yours. Then try some squad play. It's the only thing that will help these redline fails. The pubs is suffering from lack of teamwork. It doesn't need MORE solo play, it needs less.

Not here to complain, just reporting on my experience playing this game today. I can't be alone on this. Furthermore if this is the regular experience of me as a vet, I can't even imagine the NPE.

I played at least 10 solo acquisition games today and won 1. Each match consisted of either uneven numbers, blueberries which did nothing, or an enemy squad which completely dominated my team. The only explanation is that their squad was the only good one playing acquisition or matchmaking is completely broken. The one match I did win was the one where I was placed on that same squads team.

I really do enjoy playing this game when matches are balanced but getting stomped match after match for days now is getting tiresome. It's literally the same every match. Spawn in, push the objective until I get quadruple teamed, die, look at the map and see one or two blues doing stuff. Then i continue to spawn and do my best to combat the red line spawn camping of the enemy. Is it really because player numbers are low? Can't we slow down the matchmaking process so that teams can be properly balanced?

Conspiracy!!! Btw you seem to run apex "free" suits all the time but you hate proto in pubs... Where does all your isk go?

If Scotty does his job, a squad or two will be pitted against another squad or two, and solo players and smaller squads will fill the spaces between. Sure, some soloists are terrible. But a soloist like Boot can turn the tide of battle for his side.

You don't want four Boots in a squad against you. That is the kind of assured arsewhooping that'll have lesser squads leaving battle start-of-match. Let the soloists solo. They have their reasons. And better for all of us that they play DUST how they want to play DUST than not play DUST at all.

... I don't play with squads often because we always stomp and I get bored. It's not like I'm running around like a headless chicken. I play solo but I still help teammates and use proper teamwork. It used to be the case where soloists could drop in and help the team win

Squadded with you not too long ago for half a dozen matches.

(We discussed Shadows of Mordor's design and AI, laser rifle death touchin' Aldin Kahn (and our mutual shock in discovering that he was a squeaker), Kane Spero being a decent person (I'm not entirely convinced, btw), and you giving all your ISK away to a random newbro. In one match (Domination), you pulled out a nasty Blaster Tank while I camped atop the objective with a GalLogi ... many tears were had.)

TL;DR: Or run in twos instead of fours.
