So far, I haven't really been able to tell what the "points" in game are for. I'm not sure if they get translated into SP or what.
But I do think that it would be nice to rank players by points instead of by k/d ratio. If the point of the game is to take or defend the objective, then that's what the player should be noted for at the end of the game. Sure, every kill is a blow to the enemy team because it pushes them back to their spawn point and takes that player out of the game for 20+ seconds, but I would like to see at a glance who did the most hacking, who got kill assists (which don't show up in the k/d ratio currently), and who destroyed turrets and vehicles.
These are the kind of people I would like to play with and invite to a corp, so it would be nice to be able to see who is playing this way at a glance at the end of the battle. |

From what I remember the war points you collect by doing things in battle will be used to call in vehicles.
We obviously do not use them right now.
Also that ranking list doesnt really matter at all. There will be full killmails I heard that will give more detail. Also winning and losing is all that really matters anyway.
I think we have all seen sometimes when the ones with all the kills lost the match. |

Yeah, but for those players (like me) who are routinely MVP with at least a dozen kills I don't really care if we won or lost in the end since I still get loads of SP rewarded to me. I go where the enemy are in order to get kills (and hacks) and if that means that we end up losing.. oh well.
Why do I do this? To make the most of the SP bonus for the first few matches of the day.
Saying that, I'd still like to know in more detail who contributed what to the match - hacks, spawns, assists etc. |

Getting a more detailed report at the end of each battle would be nice, not just for me, but for everyone. It would allow us to see just how we are really doing, vs how we think we are doing. After all, I know that the true MVP on a team is more often than not the guy with ZERO kills. Its guy who hacked more, destroyed more, and held his ground more than the guy killing everyone. Hell it could even be the guy who simply drove the truck that got his team into the fight faster. K/D ratios are useless info. |

+1 I like this idea.. Perhaps it'd be nice to make the assist window a little longer too.. I hate it that when I'm sniping and get the guy down to like 20% armor.. he runs away to regen, but then a friendly goes around the corner and shoots him, but because it's "outside" the set assist window, I don't get anything for it other then wasting ammo.. (also do it with my AR. ) |

Shouldn't the assist window be tied to their shield/armor regen? (i.e. he healed all the damage you gave him, therefor you are no longer credited for the kill) I feel like that makes more sense than a timed countdown. (Maybe a really long timer for people who are killed minutes later, but had no armor regen.) |

Considering that DUST will be tied to a persistent universe where the resources and control of the market are far more important than K/D, a K/D ratio is something that is only for bragging rights. There are players out there in Eve Online that have been vastly successful in terms of wealth and power and they never even fired a single shot because they learn to earn ISK through trading.
The same can be said for scouts whose only job is to hack, plant drop uplinks, and be the eyes for the team and therefore become a critical member of the team. |

It's more for your own SA.. To have a better evaluation on how much effect I had on the game that round. (would be nice to have a breakdown of hacks/stop hacks/k/d/assists etc..

+1 At the bare minimum, it should show K/A/D.
But more detail is better, as many have pointed out, there is more to the game than killing blows and dying.

Idea of warpoints being used to call vehicles has been dropped if i recall well. Now, warpoints are used to determine how much of the contract's SP and ISK you will get compared to your teammates.
