So for some godforsaken reason I decided to add Domination to my match queue. After picking my class and spawning in I meet the black screen.
First, I try to throw a grenade at my feet to suicide so I can try to spawn back in with the ability to actually see but it didn't seem like my merc was able to actually throw a grenade.
Next, I tried pressing a random combination of buttons to try to get rid of the black screen and I found that if I just keep pressing 'start' over and over again really fast the black screen would go away. The problem though is that even though now I could see my merc was invisible, probably about 2 feet shorter in height than normal, he could not sprint, and he didn't have anything equipped (no weapon or equipment).
I moved around and located 2 other teammates who were not moving and I figured those people most likely also got the black screen. There was a very fast Scout on my team though that was able to make it to the objective and toss down an uplink.
After this I decided to suicide using the suicide option in the menu. When I spawned back in after suiciding I was met with the black screen again. I proceeded to press the 'start' button rapidly until the black screen went away; the problem though is that I was again invisible, slow, short, and unarmed.
I also noticed that the Scout who had made it to the objective and threw down an uplink was not moving nor was that person hacking the objective.
Not too long later the match dies on me and I am kicked back to my MCC. I checked my fittings and I noticed that I did not lose a fitting when I committed suicide while in the match.
This all occurred on that 'lag facility' map. |

It just happened again. This time it was an Ambush Match.
I spawn in and I immediately meet the black screen. I perform the same routine of pressing the 'start' button repeatedly until the black screen goes away; again I am slow, invisible, short, and unarmed.
Several people on my team and the enemy team are just fine and proceed to battle it out.
As I am moving across the battle I can tell that several people on my team and several people on the enemy team have also received the black screen and I watch them all get slaughtered. Eventually I am killed but luckily after I spawn back into the match everything runs smoothly and the match ends up being a success.
This 'black screen' issue is starting to become rather prevalent. |
