Sports games have the year in their titles?
It never seems like anything different with each year and a new one comes out. What? They have slightly different stats and that one dude who did really well this season has better stats and slightly more detail in his crotch?

I don't play these games myself but some of my mates do.
It's for the updated rosters. It's a big immersion breaker if you're playing as a certain team and there's someone on it who was playing on a different team in that game you just watched live on TV.
Something is killing new player retention.

Because if you can make hundreds of millions of dollars by just recycling the same game, updating the database of players and printing it on a new disc and none of your customers question you, you've got a good thing going and shouldn't **** with it |

I think they sometimes do, but yeh as MrShooter01 said their customers are already conditioned to buy a new game each year so why risk losing that?

No wonder I'm not as excited to look at a console anymore. I'll just stuck to playing my GameCube. Or maybe jump on PC and play something nodded. Or just grab my old xbox 360 and play some of my old favorite games.
