Too long didn't read at the bottom.
The struggle is real. Do I use breach AR or quafe AR ? I've always enjoyed the ar, especially back when it had less than 800rpm and didn't do 34 damage a shot. I enjoyed the breach when it had less damage and clip size but like 20 spare clips. When they did that op buff and all the try hard fotm guys used the breach because it was a an outlier in the rifle balancing, I stuck to my ar.
I earned my quafe a few months after they were released . Never put it down since then but foxfour has got me all screwed up. You see my quafe handles like a balacs now. So unfamilar. So fast and rowdy. So . . . Different. Burst firing is required 3 to 4 times a clip as opposed to once or twice to maintain accuracy. The breach on the other hand fires like an arr with a lot higher base damage.
When comparing the breach to the vanilla, the dps is about equal and I think the vanilla has more damage per clip. The breach has always had less recoil and been more accurate, so it wins in the handling department. In terms of reliability, the vanilla is better for light targets and the breach is better for heavy targets.
Vanilla excels on a mobile suit with high reps. Its best at destroying mobile, jumpy targets because the bullet spray is more forgiving on inaccuracies. It also boasts one helluva panic fire. Best part is it will kill any suit if you got a full clip. Its good at everything but not the best at any one thing.
Breach excels on most anything. Its best at ganking high hp suits (like the rail rifle it mimics). Within two seconds you've dealt fatal damage to anything stupid enough to let you. The higher damage per shot means it has more effect at range than the vanilla when trying to suppress to move in closer. I'd say it ganks better because of the way it fires and the way dmg mods effect it. It will punish half ass aimers, but not nearly as bad as the scrambler.
TL;DR I can think of many reasons why both the assault rifle and the breach assault rifle are great weapons.I just can't decide which is better overall for me. To breach or not to breach ?

I always found the breach best at hitting mobile targets on account of the fact that each hit landed packs a massive punch, so you can afford to miss a little, whereas I have to maintain decent aim on my target with the vanilla. But then it goes without saying that my gun game isn't top-rate, so there you go.
The breach has the extra range and the tighter hipfire for minimal loss of effective dps over the vanilla, which is one of the most specialised weapons in the game when you consider the competition working within its own optimal; HMG's, shotguns, flaylocks, all the nasty stuff. Breach is essentially safer, I guess.
But I think Rattati is going to nerf it. Don't ask me why, 'just the way he was talking about how Breach-types in general just don't sit well on his beloved dps-range rifle curve. With the Galassault buffing the breach into near-broken efficacy, I wouldn't advise getting *too* comfortable with it.

Close actually. Believe it or not, even with the insane damage and rof, the vanilla is better in heavies. I usually find my self dying because I ran out of click on my breach.
I remember back in the day when I skilled the ar to pro. (Flash back)
It was ok, still had 60 rounds, they were "balanced" because the only other weapon was the scrambler which was added near when i began playing. Old days.
Now it's really good.

Depends on the ranges you want to engage. The breach is still a close range weapon, especially considering the long range meta of Dust currently.
If you die a lot to a dude with a breach, at some point you should consider not approaching him anymore.
Seriously, port it.
